Ivy Cottage Number 1 offers charming self-catering accommodation in the quaint village of Crantock. This traditional Cornish cottage provides an ideal base for exploring the South West peninsula and its many attractions.
Accommodation
Dating back to the 17th century, the cottage has been recently extended to provide cosy and comfortable accommodation. Tastefully furnished throughout, it offers a peaceful retreat in a tranquil setting.
Inside, the open-plan sitting and dining room is full of character, featuring an original Cornish slate inglenook fireplace with clome oven, a beamed ceiling, and a stable door. Guests can relax in front of the LED TV, which includes a DVD player.
The fully equipped kitchen provides everything needed for self-catering, including an electric hob, fan oven, fridge with a small freezer compartment, and a range of matching utensils and crockery.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms—a double and a twin room—with an additional guest bed available if required. Bed linen and towels are provided. The bedrooms share a modern shower room with an electric shower, hand-wash basin, and toilet (no bath).
Outside, there is a secluded patio and garden area with lovely countryside views, offering the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee.
Visiting the Area
The cottage is ideally located for outdoor enthusiasts, with stunning natural scenery on the doorstep. A private unmade road beside the cottage leads directly to the sand dunes and the golden beach between East and West Pentire.
Crantock itself offers a selection of art and craft shops, the Cosy Nook Tea Gardens and Restaurant, two village pubs, and the historic Norman Church of St. Carantoc.
Nearby attractions include Towan Beach, Fistral Beach, National Trust – Trerice, Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay, and Porth Beach.
