Set back from the single-track road that loops through Borve off the A87 Portree to Uig road, the property enjoys a peaceful setting just three miles from Portree, Skye’s picturesque capital, making it an ideal base for exploring the island.
The cottage has been awarded a 3 Star rating by VisitScotland and offers a true home-from-home experience. On the ground floor, there is a cosy lounge with a colour TV and DVD player, along with a spacious dining kitchen equipped with an electric cooker, washing machine, microwave, and other essential facilities. A shower room with toilet and WC is also located on this level. Additional amenities include a freezer and tumble dryer.
Upstairs, there are three bedrooms comprising one double room, one twin room, and a smaller bedroom suitable for a child or a single adult. All electricity, including heating, is included in the tariff, and bed linen and towels are provided.
Portree, located just three miles to the south, serves as the island’s main hub for shopping and amenities. The village offers two supermarkets, a bakery, butchers, chemist, hardware and souvenir shops, as well as garages and filling stations. There are also several hotels, bars, restaurants, and cafés to enjoy. The nearby Aros Centre hosts exhibitions, including a sea eagle and island display, alongside regular music, cinema, and theatre performances.
A short walk from Portree’s central square leads to the harbour, where visitors can enjoy views of moored boats and local fishing vessels bringing in their daily catch. The name Portree translates to “The King’s Port” in Gaelic, reflecting its historic charm and scenic beauty.
