Country Ways provides 5 self-catering cottages set within stunning mature gardens and glorious views across the North Devon countryside. Tastefully converted from old stone milking barns and stabling, our cottages are comfortable, well-equipped and have their own unique characters. 4 out of 5 of our cottages are “Paw Guest Friendly”.

The Warren (Sleeps 7):

Is our largest cottage with three bedrooms: one with a double bed and bunk beds, the second with a king-size bed, and the third is located downstairs with its own en-suite toilet. The Warren is ideal for large or extended families. The Warren is a “Paw Guest Friendly cottage.

Cuckoo’s Nest (Sleeps 6):

Is our luxury Hot Tub cottage with your own private patio area. It has 3 bedrooms. One has a king-size bed, the second with a double bed, and the third with bunk beds. The Cuckoo’s Nest is a “Paw Guest Friendly cottage.

The Stables (Sleeps 5):

Is our accessible for all. It has a large ramp leading to the door & a fully accessible wet room. The Stables has 2 bedrooms: one with a king-size bed and a second with a double bed. A hayloft bed space can be accessed from bedroom 2, with a single bed. It also has patio doors leading out to its own private decking area with a Hot Tub. The Stables is a “Paw Guest Friendly cottage.

The Den (Sleeps 2-4):

Is a bright, open-plan cottage and is ideal for couples or young families. This is an upside-down cottage with a double bedroom downstairs and a double sofa bed upstairs in the lounge area if required. The Den is a “Paw Guest Friendly cottage.

The Dray (Sleeps 2):

Is a quaint and cosy cottage. It is often used as our couple’s suite, like the Den it is an upside-down cottage, with a bedroom downstairs and lounge and kitchen area upstairs. The Dray is not a “Paw Guest Friendly cottage.

Visiting Umberleigh & Exploring Devon:

Country Ways is lucky to be in a region with so much to do. |With Exmoor to the north and Dartmoor to the south. The beaches are some of England’s finish and are all very different. We have beaches with the lovely rocky coves and cliffs to the north and the long sandy surfing beaches to the west. There is also so much else to see and do around the North Devon area for all ages. The Old Rectory Cottages are a collection of award-winning holiday homes near Umberleigh in Devon. The local village, Kings Nympton has a thatched pub, Saxon church and beautiful surrounding countryside.

The luxury holiday cottages are set on 4 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens with two ponds which are home to a variety of ducks.

There are 6 cottages available:

The Tythe Barn – Sleeps 7.

Nymet Mews – Sleeps 5.

Woodlands – Sleeps 4.

Little Nymet – Sleeps 2.

Hawthorns – Sleeps 4.

Chestnuts – Sleeps 4.

All of the cottages are finished to the highest of standards and include all modern amenities and facilities you may need on your self catering break away. The Old Rectory Cottages are very child friendly.

On site there is a heated and covered swimming pool which is open all year round. There is also a play area and outdoor table tennis.

Kings Nympton is ideally situated to explore and enjoy unspoilt countryside surrounding the village and as a base from which to explore North Devon and beyond. It is nestled between Exmoor & Dartmoor, perfect for walkers.

Many attractions are easily accessible including the dramatic North Devon cliff coastline, glorious sandy ‘surfers’ beaches at Saunton Sands, Bude, Woolacombe and Croyde, as well as horse riding, fishing and field sports.

Set within stunning mature gardens with glorious views across North Devon countryside, Country Ways Cottages are perfect for short getaways and longer stays. Tastefully converted from old stone milking barns and stabling, they are comfortable, well equipped and have their own unique character.

All cottages have adjustable thermostats, well-equipped modern kitchens, comfortable beds and soft fresh linen. For each cottage, the owners provide all towels and linen, your first 2 toilet rolls, tea towels, a sponge, washing up liquid and a complimentary tea and coffee station.

With five cottages to choose from, they cater for single guests, families, groups, guests with mobility issues and dogs. All interior areas are non-smoking.

Country Ways is lucky to be in a region with so much to do with Exmoor to the north and Dartmoor to the south. The beaches are also all very different with the lovely rocky coves and cliffs to the north and the long sandy surfing beaches to the west of us. There are also interesting wildlife beaches such as Crow Point.

Bartridge Farm Cottage offers outstanding self catering accommodation near Umberleigh in Devon. It's the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

This charming property is in a glorious countryside location on the side of the Taw Valley & enjoys spectacular countryside views. Tastefully restored from 17th Century barns, the cottage retains all of its original features whilst offering modern accommodation. Two bedrooms are available: a king size room and bunk room. The latter is ideal for children. Both rooms share a bathroom with a bath, shower, sink and toilet.

The living room is perfect for unwinding in. Excellent facilities include a leather sofa, armchair, rocking chair, 32’’ flat screen TV with Freesat and DVD player. 

A wonderful indoor heating swimming pool is available for you to enjoy. The pool comes with LED underwater lights and a controller to change to colour. Glorious views of the Taw Valley and Exmoor can be enjoyed from the pool. A luxurious spa bath is also available. Outside there is a raised patio, picnic bench, sunbathing area and gas BBQ. 

Nearby you can visit a range of excellent attractions, including the Cabbaton Combat Collection. This houses the largest private military collection in the South West. RHS Garden Rosemoor is perfect for gardening enthusiasts. You can see stunning roses, walk amongst the shrubs and the trees and simply enjoy the outdoors.
