Woody Bay Cottage offers wonderful self-catering accommodation near Lynton in Devon. Set in a peaceful and glorious position at the foot of Woody Bay, we boast stunning views across the Bay and the Valley of Rocks. We are a great base for exploring Exmoor National Park and a range of attractions in the area.

Accommodation:

Our charming cottage is at the end of a private road passing through the National Trust Woody Bay Estate, with a path to the beach.

Five lovely bedrooms are accessed by quite steep staircases, with some low thresholds. A large double has a wash basin. Further double, twin and single rooms are also available. A further single room is 3 steps from the living room. On the first floor, there is a bathroom/WC with an electric shower and a separate WC.

On the ground floor is a second bathroom which also houses the washing machine and tumbles dryer. A relaxing living room has a beautiful stone fireplace, TV/DVD player and comfy seating for 6. The perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. A separate dining room has seating for 8 people and comes with a wood-burning stove and oak furniture. The kitchen comes fully equipped with an electric fan oven, grill and hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

Outside there are good-sized mature gardens with a small lawns, stone and paved terraces, pretty gardens and garden furniture. Ideal for al fresco dining.

Visiting Lynton & Exploring Devon:

Above Woody Bay lies gorgeous open countryside, making us a great base for walking and observing the local wildlife. Arlington Court consists of lots of treasures to see, including model ships and shells. The Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway has a superb, water-powered cliff railway which is the perfect way for admiring the breathtaking landscape. A range of brilliant attractions are in the local area:

We are a haven for country lovers looking for a tranquil getaway. Stroll around the magical woodland inhabited by wild deer or visit the scenic streams and river. We are also a great destination for walkers, with lots of brilliant walks surrounding us.

Our cosy cottage sleeps 4 people and boasts stunning views over Exmoor. The cottage has been beautifully furnished and features a delightful open plan living area with a wood burner for the winter months. You can open the elegant French doors to blend outdoor and indoor living seamlessly. Cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen and enjoy some culinary delights around the dining table which sleeps 4.

We have two lovely bedrooms available. Both rooms offer breathtaking countryside views and include en suite facilities. 

Outside a spacious, grassed garden includes a picnic table and a BBQ, great for al fresco dining whilst admiring the gorgeous views. We also have a children’s play area.

Onsite we provide stabling/grazing, offering you the opportunity to bring your own horse for an unforgettable horse-riding holiday. The farm also has lots of routes to take your horse on.

We are in a fantastic position for discovering Exmoor and the amazing north Devon coast. Nearby are the renowned beaches around Croyde Bay. Wonderful beaches can be enjoyed on the north and west side of the North Devon coast, whilst walkers can enjoy the abundance of routes on the coasts, moorland and woodland.

Little Mead offers guests comfortable and cosy self catering holiday accommodation that is situated in the village of Brendon in Devon. The holiday cottage is in the heart of Lorna Doone Country and is only a short drive from many local attractions and places of interest, perfect for a group of family or friends who are looking to visit this stunning area of Devon.

Inside the holiday cottage, you will find a spacious sitting room with a wood-burning stove and pleasant views of the wooded slopes surrounding the village. The large kitchen/diner has an oil-fired Rayburn providing full central heating and hot water with an electric immersion for the summer.

There are a number of excellent eating places. The Stag Hunters Inn is only 250 yards from the cottage and the Rockford Inn a mile further on. A particular favourite of the hosts is the Fox and Goose at Parracombe about a twenty-minute drive away.

Salmon, sea trout and trout fishing is available on the East Lyn River. Tickets are available from Brendon House Hotel (l00yds from the cottage) for the Glenthome and Watersmeet fishery. Alternately there are plenty of stables in the area but we recommend either Brendon Manor Stables or Clouds Hill Farm Stables at Malmsmead.

Dean Steep offers self catering accommodation located close to the village of Barbrook near the beautiful town of Lynton in Devon. The holiday cottages are located in the Exmoor National Park where there are stunning cliff top walks and beautiful waterfalls. There are a total of 12 self-catering cottages for guests to choose from.

The cottages are set in two acres of grounds including ponds, beautiful lawns, play area, a Wendy house, garden toys, a games room with table tennis and table football, garden furniture and BBQ facilities. We also have two large fields which are ideal for dog walking and ball games. There are walks starting right from our grounds to Valley of Rocks and Lee Bay amongst others. Ramblers will love the area as the South West Coastal Path and the Tarka trail can be reached where there are miles of walking and cycling routes. The area is also great for horse riding and fishing. Dean Steep is within 2 miles of local beaches and only half an hour from the surfing beaches of Woolacombe and slightly further to Croyde Bay. Ilfracombe and Minehead are also within easy reach.

Rockford Lodge is a charming self catering holiday cottage situated in the tranquil village of Brendon, near Lynton in Devon. The cottage stands on the sunny bank of the picturesque East Lyn river at Rockford in the lovely Brendon Valley of Lorna Doone fame and the spectacular coast of North Devon is nearby with Lynton and Lynmouth just four miles away.

Rockford Lodge is approached by a footbridge and is peacefully set in a woodland area away from all traffic. 

Rockford Lodge is 3 bedroomed holiday cottage that provides comfortable self catering accommodation for up to 6 and is well equipped with a cosy sitting room that boasts an open fire and dining room/TV area with TV and DVD player, well filled bookcase and maps, guide books, puzzles and games and also an ample toy cupboard. 

The River Room is a very attractive and spacious beamed summer sitting room, furnished in old pine and beautiful views of the East Lyn.

The modern farmhouse kitchen is fitted with an oil fired Aga and electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, iron and ironing board. A table and chairs allow cosy, yet comfortable, additional dining and a high chair are available if required. 

The double bedroom has a washbasin and there are two further twin bedded rooms. All bed linen is available at an extra charge but please bring your own towels.

The large bathroom has a WC, washbasin, bath and separate shower cubicle. There is also a separate WC upstairs.

There is a small private garden with table and chairs and deckchairs are provided. A small barbecue is provided. A separate hillside garden with patio and summerhouse adjoins the cottage making a delightful addition to the immediate surroundings.

Rockford Lodge is ideally situated for exploring Exmoor. Whether you are planning a quiet relaxing holiday doing very little or a week or two of trekking the wonderful footpaths Exmoor has to offer there is plenty to keep everyone happy. Salmon and trout fishing is available on the East Lyn and there is also excellent riding nearby.
