The Calf Pens offers self catering accommodation less than 2 miles from Masham in North Yorkshire. This charming cottage is accessed along a ¾ mile track and is a great base for exploring Herriot Country.

Sympathetically converted to a high standard, this is a peaceful and comfortable cottage, all on ground floor level.

This converted cottage has underfloor heating (from a geo thermal heat pump) and has been decorated and equipped to the highest standard. It has two double bedrooms, with zip and link beds in each (the cottage can sleep 4 people, either with 2 double beds or 4 singles).

It has a good sized sitting room with a log burner, TV, DVD player and a radio/cassette player. There is also a dining area in the sitting room along with a selection of books, puzzles, playing cards and games.

The kitchen is very well equipped with an electric hob and oven, a microwave cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge.

This part of North Yorkshire is a walker’s paradise. Pretty riverside walks can be enjoyed just minutes from the doorstep and the area has excellent opportunities for bird watching, there is a wetlands conservation area just a 5 minute walk away.

Rockford Lodge, Brendon, Lynton, Devon

Rockford Lodge is a charming self catering holiday cottage situated in the tranquil village of Brendon, near Lynton in Devon. The cottage stands on the sunny bank of the picturesque East Lyn river at Rockford in the lovely Brendon Valley of Lorna Doone fame and the spectacular coast of North Devon is nearby with Lynton and Lynmouth just four miles away.

Rockford Lodge is approached by a footbridge and is peacefully set in a woodland area away from all traffic. 

Rockford Lodge is 3 bedroomed holiday cottage that provides comfortable self catering accommodation for up to 6 and is well equipped with a cosy sitting room that boasts an open fire and dining room/TV area with TV and DVD player, well filled bookcase and maps, guide books, puzzles and games and also an ample toy cupboard. 

The River Room is a very attractive and spacious beamed summer sitting room, furnished in old pine and beautiful views of the East Lyn.

The modern farmhouse kitchen is fitted with an oil fired Aga and electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, iron and ironing board. A table and chairs allow cosy, yet comfortable, additional dining and a high chair are available if required. 

The double bedroom has a washbasin and there are two further twin bedded rooms. All bed linen is available at an extra charge but please bring your own towels.

The large bathroom has a WC, washbasin, bath and separate shower cubicle. There is also a separate WC upstairs.

There is a small private garden with table and chairs and deckchairs are provided. A small barbecue is provided. A separate hillside garden with patio and summerhouse adjoins the cottage making a delightful addition to the immediate surroundings.

Rockford Lodge is ideally situated for exploring Exmoor. Whether you are planning a quiet relaxing holiday doing very little or a week or two of trekking the wonderful footpaths Exmoor has to offer there is plenty to keep everyone happy. Salmon and trout fishing is available on the East Lyn and there is also excellent riding nearby.
