From the cottage, guests can often spot seals and dolphins in the water, while seabirds glide overhead, and on clear days, views stretch across the Minch to the Isle of Skye.

The property itself is a spacious three-bedroom home, accommodating up to six guests. Inside, it features a cosy lounge with an open fire, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, along with a smart TV and board games for quieter evenings. The fully equipped kitchen and dining area provide everything needed for a comfortable self-catering stay. The bedrooms include a king room, a double room and a twin room, offering flexible accommodation for families or groups. Outside, a large wraparound decking area provides the perfect spot for al fresco dining while enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Dalhanna is ideally positioned for exploring Harris and beyond. Tarbert, the island’s main hub, is just a short walk away, offering shops, restaurants and local amenities, as well as ferry links to North Uist and Skye. Within a 20-minute drive, visitors can reach some of the island’s stunning beaches, while a range of outdoor activities including walking, cycling, fishing and golf are all available nearby. The wider area also offers rich history and culture, including the famous St Clement’s Church in Rodel, making Dalhanna an excellent base for discovering the beauty and heritage of the Isle of Harris.

Situated within 5 minutes of the ferry terminal in Tarbert, Harris. Dalhanna combines the warmth and comfort of home with wonderful unspoilt views of Loch Tarbert where seals and dolphins swim, and terns, oystercatchers and guillemots search for food in the clear western waters. Looking further there are wondrous views over the Minch to the Isle of Skye.

About Dalhanna

Dalhanna is a modern three-bedroom house that can provide accommodation for up to six people.

The cottage is fitted with double glazing throughout and the lounge has an open fire for taking the chill off a summer evening and cosying around on a dark winter’s night. Facilities include a smart TV and board games. A fully equipped kitchen seats up to 6 guests on a large dining table.

Our self catering accommodation comprises of 3 bedrooms: 1 king room, 1 double room and 1 twin room.

Outside there is a large wraparound decking area with a table and chairs for al fresco dining.

Visiting East Tarbert & Exploring The Western Isles

Tarbert is the main centre in Harris, and the accommodation is close to Ferry links to North Uist and Skye and a short walk to local amenities (shops, restaurants, tourist information, swimming pool/sports centre, bank etc).

Unspoilt beaches within a 20-minute drive either to the south or west of the accommodation. Dalhanna is an ideal base for a family or couples’ holiday. Other sporting activities such as golf (nine holes), tennis, fishing, swimming, sports exercise, walking and cycling can all be found locally. A larger variety of sporting and leisure facilities are available in Stornoway.

People come from all over the world to visit St. Clements Church in Rodel, where the Macleod chiefs used to worship in the early 1500s.
