Burnbrae Holidays offer self-catering accommodation in the pretty village of Nenthorn. We are close to Kelso on the Scottish Borders. They are the perfect base for exploring both sides of the Scotland/England border.

About The Cottages:
Each cottage is light and airy with plenty of space. From the dining area of the living room, there is direct, level access to the enticing conservatory. Each holiday cottage is generously equipped for 2 people for self-catering. For those who require them, we can provide additional beds. All of the rooms are on the same level and reached from the car park without any step up or down. Cars can approach close to the main entrance of each cottage for loading. There is a large, private car park adjacent to the cottages. We have a travel cot & a high chair available for use in any of the cottages.

Each cottage has a wood-burning stove for which we provide the wood, as well as central heating throughout. Come and relax in your south-facing conservatory whilst watching the varied birdlife.

Visiting Nenthorn & Exploring Kelso:
The cottages are within 50 minutes drive of Edinburgh, the east coast fishing villages and the Cheviot and Ettrick Hills. Ideal for visiting a wealth of abbeys, gardens and stately homes (Floors Castle and Mellerstain nearby). We are just 5 kilometres from Kelso with its splendid square and abbey ruins. With its cobbled streets, large market square and elegant Georgian properties, Kelso is noted for its variety of independent shops and eateries. Fishing enthusiasts can visit the River Tweed, famous globally for salmon & trout fishing.

Cycling is a particular pleasure on the network of quiet lanes around Burnbrae. In the hills are many tracks which can be cycled by those with the necessary stamina and equipment. In addition to the possibilities for short walks within Burnbrae, there are walks starting at the site. Although spectacular in places, the Borders countryside is not intimidating and there is a wide choice of walking of all levels of difficulty. The region has less rain and more dry, sunny weather than do the more western parts of Britain.

Girnick Cottage provides fantastic self-catering accommodation in Kelso, set in beautiful countryside. We are a brilliant base for exploring Roxburghshire and visiting an array of great attractions in the Scottish Borders.

Our luxurious cottage sleeps up to 5 people and provides excellent accommodation. This ground-level property has parking for 2 cars.

Inside there is a lounge/dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, 1 double bedroom, 1 twin which can be made into a double, 1 single bedroom and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. A travel cot is available if required.

Superb facilities include an open fire, bed linen and towels, Freeview TV, DVD player, electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/dryer.

Smallholm Mains Cottages are nestled within 600 acres of beautiful countryside near Kelso. Our cottage in the heart of the Scottish Borders and are the perfect base for exploring Roxburghshire and the surrounding area. Our cottage is the ideal setting for a relaxing holiday.

Craggs Holiday Cottage is a charming property that can accommodate up to five guests. We can provide a cot and high chair should you need them for your stay. Two of the bedrooms, a super king-size room and a twin room, are upstairs. The super king bed now can be made into twin beds if needed. A further single bedroom is downstairs. The cottage bedrooms are homely and comfortable and there is a bathroom with a bath and shower.

Our cottage has a traditional country kitchen and includes a Raeburn cooker, oven, electric hob, microwave, washer-dryer, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and CD player. You will feel as if you have a home from home in Craggs Cottage. The living area has satellite television, DVD, books and games in case you have a rainy day. The lounge also has a lovely open fire with a supply of logs to help you enjoy cosy evenings in.

Within the utility room, there is an iron, ironing board and a vacuum cleaner. Outside is an enclosed garden laid to the lawn, with garden furniture and a safe area for the children to play. A barbecue is available upon request.

Kelso is a lovely market town in the Scottish Borders. The charming cobbled market square is surrounded by independent shops and a great collection of places to eat. You can visit plenty of attractions while staying with us. Floors Castle has a rich history and houses fine porcelain, oriental ceramic and antique furniture. Kelso is also famous for his racecourse. It is known to be one of Britain’s friendless and is in a beautiful location. Golf, fishing and shooting all available locally.
