Burnbrae Holidays offer self-catering accommodation in the pretty village of Nenthorn. We are close to Kelso on the Scottish Borders. They are the perfect base for exploring both sides of the Scotland/England border.

About The Cottages:

Each cottage is light and airy with plenty of space. From the dining area of the living room, there is direct, level access to the enticing conservatory. Each holiday cottage is generously equipped for 2 people for self-catering. For those who require them, we can provide additional beds. All of the rooms are on the same level and reached from the car park without any step up or down. Cars can approach close to the main entrance of each cottage for loading. There is a large, private car park adjacent to the cottages. We have a travel cot & a high chair available for use in any of the cottages.

Each cottage has a wood-burning stove for which we provide the wood, as well as central heating throughout. Come and relax in your south-facing conservatory whilst watching the varied birdlife.

Visiting Nenthorn & Exploring Kelso:

The cottages are within 50 minutes drive of Edinburgh, the east coast fishing villages and the Cheviot and Ettrick Hills. Ideal for visiting a wealth of abbeys, gardens and stately homes (Floors Castle and Mellerstain nearby). We are just 5 kilometres from Kelso with its splendid square and abbey ruins. With its cobbled streets, large market square and elegant Georgian properties, Kelso is noted for its variety of independent shops and eateries. Fishing enthusiasts can visit the River Tweed, famous globally for salmon & trout fishing.

Cycling is a particular pleasure on the network of quiet lanes around Burnbrae. In the hills are many tracks which can be cycled by those with the necessary stamina and equipment. In addition to the possibilities for short walks within Burnbrae, there are walks starting at the site. Although spectacular in places, the Borders countryside is not intimidating and there is a wide choice of walking of all levels of difficulty. The region has less rain and more dry, sunny weather than do the more western parts of Britain.

Williamscraig Holiday Cottages, Williamscraig, Linlithgow, West Lothian (Sleeps 1-14)

Williamscraig Holiday Cottages is a family-run business based near the historic town of Linlithgow. We are only 17 miles by motorway to the centre of Edinburgh, or 18 minutes by train from Linlithgow which is two miles away. Family groups and hen parties are welcome.

All of our holiday cottages have hot tubs. There is a children’s play area out front and a field for ball games. The cottages are child friendly with stair gates, high chairs, a travel cot and kids’ cutlery and crockery.

Our stone-built holiday cottages are light, airy and spacious. Wooden floors and doors throughout. The cottages come fully furnished, including bedding and towels. Each cottage contains a dishwasher (& tablets), microwave, washing machine, flat screen television and DVD player. We aim to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible! All three cottages are three bedrooms and they all have a mezzanine with separate seating accommodation. The master bedroom in each cottage is en suite and there is a separate family bathroom. Dining for eight people is situated beside the kitchen area. Each cottage has a wood-burning stove and a basket of logs provided. The cottages all have Wi-Fi. Each cottage has its own grassed area, outside lighting and hard paved driveway.

We also have a wonderful farmhouse to stay in. Our largest property sleeps 14 people in 5 bedrooms, plus a TV bedroom/snug on the ground floor. The house enjoys glorious views over the half-acre pond.

Linlithgow Golf Course is next door, visitors are most welcome and discounts are available for our guests. There are two fishing lochs nearby with a discount available at Bowden Springs Fishery. Linlithgow Sports Centre is one mile away. There are many beautiful, tranquil walks in the immediate area, including a direct path to Cockleroy and Cairnpapple Hills where there once stood ancient henges and forts.

Artists Corner is a stunning property in a lovely part of Harrogate. It has a spacious and bright interior whilst still retaining much charm and character of the original cottage. It is only a 5-minute walk to local amenities and is a great place to stay for both business and leisure guests. Only 8 minute walk to Harrogate International Centre.

Outside to the rear of the property is a fully enclosed private patio - a great place to relax and enjoy a meal during the summer months when we provide colourful garden furniture, chiminea and BBQ.

Due to the age of the property, the stairs are steep with narrow treads and unsuited to toddlers and infants. Stair gates cannot be fitted.

We can provide travel cots and high chairs on request at no cost. You will require your own bedding for the travel cot.

Within a five minute walk on Kings Road, a local Sainsburys and independent eateries. On Skipton Road Fish and Chips, a local butcher and a Co-Op. Likewise, if you fancy heading out for a drink The Swan on the Stray is a fine pub. The nearest petrol station is Esso on Skipton Road or Asda on Dragon Road. The Stray is a short walk.

Hawksland Mill, St. Issey, Wadebridge, Cornwall, Sleeps 1-6

Hawksland Mill provides 4-holiday cottages that surround a lawned courtyard. They are located on a country lane within St. Issey. This Cornish village gives easy access to the towns of Padstow and Wadebridge. There are plenty of beautiful beaches within easy reach.

Heron Cottage:

This single-storey property can sleep 4/5 people. Bedrooms consist of a master and a twin. Space is available in the master for a cot or divan bed. It has an open plan living/dining room with a wood burner. Sliding doors lead to a conservatory and out onto the terrace. The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped.

Well Cottage:

Like Heron Cottage this property has a double and twin room. The living room leads to a conservatory/dining room. There is a fully fitted pine kitchen. Outside is an enclosed garden with stunning views.

Leat Cottage:

This cottage can sleep 6 people in a double and 2 twins. The living room is very impressive and leads to the kitchen through an archway. This property has a conservatory/dining room that leads to the garden and terrace.

Lower Mill Cottage:

This light and airy cottage accommodate 2 in a double room. The open plan living/dining room has views of the coast. This room leads to the well-equipped kitchen.

Outside is a shady seating area.

The market town of Wadebridge is a popular place to visit. It includes shops, art galleries, places to eat and a leisure centre. Many visitors come to Cornwall for the magnificent gardens such as Trebah and Trelissick.

There is also a choice of stately homes such as Pencarrow House, Lanhydrock, Trerice and Cotehele.
