The Hideaway offers unique boutique self catering accommodation in Shepton Mallet, near the cathedral city of Wells. We are nestled in a rural location and in a great location for exploring Somerset.

Accommodation

Our totally self-contained accommodation is great for a romantic getaway in the country, with lovely East Mendip walks right on our doorstep. The property is located on the owner’s equestrian farm but tucked away for plenty of peace and privacy.

Inside there is a cosy open plan living/bedroom which has been finished to a high standard. Facilities included a smart TV, free Wi-Fi and comfy seating, plus an open fire for those chilly days. Enjoy some home cooking the fully-equipped kitchen that comes with a range of excellent appliances: a gas cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, and coffee machine. We also provide a local food hamper.

The bedroom comes with a king-size bed and luxury cotton bedding, great for a restful night’s sleep. The bathroom has a large shower and heated towel rail.

Outside there is a fabulous terrace with sun loungers to relax on, plus steps to your private firepit area, complete with benches, wooden swinging chair, hammock and barbeque for al fresco dining whilst savouring the view.

Visiting Shepton Mallet & Exploring Somerset

We are close to the famous city of Wells, renowned for its majestic cathedral, independent shops and weekly markets. Wander along Vicar’s Close, reportedly the oldest residential street in Europe, or walk around the beautiful gardens at Bishops Place. Head to Wookey Hole Caves or visit the quirky town of Glastonbury. Great attractions to visit include:

Upper Heath Farm offers fabulous self catering accommodation in the delightful hamlet of Heath. We offer stable and equestrian facilities, providing weekly and short breaks. The Craven Arms and Ludlow are easily accessible, plus a range of attractions in Shropshire.

Accommodation

We are nestled in a stunning countryside setting and boast amazing views of the Shropshire Hills. Our cottage is the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life. A welcome hamper includes a few essentials (including a homemade cake).

Inside there is a delightful sitting room with come seating, a TV, DVD player, Mini Hi-Fi with radio and Optiflame electric stove for those chilly days. Enjoy some home cooking in the fully-equipped open plan kitchen that includes a range of appliances including an oven, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Enjoy a delicious feast around the dining table.

Upstairs there is a master double room with enjoys glorious country views and a twin room. Both rooms share a bathroom with a shower over bath.

Outside there is a private courtyard with a table, seating and BBQ for al fresco dining whilst admiring the outstanding views. You are also welcome to explore our 16 acres of magnificent grounds.

Visiting Heath & Exploring Shropshire

This part of the country is a haven for outdoor lovers, with lots of scenic walking and cycling routes in the area. The Long Mynd combines open moor with gorgeous valleys, whilst The Stretton Hills are great for more strenuous walks. You can visit the shops and Michelin-starred restaurants in Ludlow or see the famous World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gore. Great attractions to visit include:
