Tighnariddon Cottages, Colintraive, Glendaruel, Argyll

Tighnariddon Cottages are located in Glendaruel, near Colintraive, and offer self-catering accommodation in a breathtaking location on the shore of Loch Riddon. This makes it the perfect setting for an idyllic holiday and an ideal base for exploring the many attractions on the Argyll Secret Coast.

The two cottages available, Shelduck Cottage and Teal Cottage, can be booked together for larger parties, each featuring its own garden and BBQ for outdoor dining and enjoyment of the scenic surroundings.

Shelduck Cottage includes a relaxing sitting room with a log burner and TV, which opens onto a lovely decking area that offers picturesque views of the loch and its wildlife. The kitchen is well equipped with all the necessary appliances for a comfortable stay. There is a shower room on the ground floor, along with a twin and a double room, each with its own en suite bathroom. For those needing accessibility features, there is a ramp from one of the outside doors. The first floor contains another double room with an adjoining bathroom and a large landing that includes a sofa bed and dormer windows overlooking Loch Riddon.

Teal Cottage offers comfortable ground-floor accommodation with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. The sitting room, equipped with a log burner and TV, provides relaxing views over the loch. At the back of the house are two bedrooms, one twin and one double, each with en suite facilities. This cottage also includes a ramp outside one of the doors, making it suitable for wheelchair users.

For fishing enthusiasts, the property boasts a mile-long stretch of the well-known spate river, the Ruel, which from mid-June to the end of October, has a good run of salmon and sea trout. Tenants are welcome to fish this water free of charge using fly fishing techniques only. Additionally, there is excellent sea fishing locally and several hill lochs stocked with brown and rainbow trout, for which day permits can be purchased.

Tighnariddon Cottages offer magnificent self-catering accommodation in Glendaruel, near Colintraive. Our cottages are in a breathtaking location on the shore of Loch Riddon, perfect for an idyllic holiday. We are a great base for exploring the many attractions on what is known as the Argyll Secret Coast.

Our recently completed properties enjoy stunning views and are beautifully furnished. The two cottages can be booked together for larger parties. Each property has a delightful garden and a BBQ.

Shelduck Cottage:
Our charming property comes with a relaxing sitting room with a log burner and TV. Double doors open onto a lovely decking area. The perfect spot to admire gorgeous views of the loch and its amazing wildlife. A well-equipped kitchen comes with a range of excellent appliances to suit all your needs.

On the ground floor, there is also a shower room, 1 twin and 1 double room both with en suite bathrooms. There is a ramp from one of the outside doors, making it suitable for wheelchair users. Argyll is a great place for enjoying a range of activities. The Loch Riddon estuary immediately in front of the cottages is an ornithologist's dream with the added bonus of there being an Osprey's nest within 400 yards of the cottages. You can see stunning flora and fauna and also red squirrels [and occasionally pine martens] feeding on specially designed boxes within yards of the cottages. There are several golf courses nearby and excellent red and roe deer stalking can be arranged with experienced stalkers in season. The young at heart can enjoy quad biking with Quadmania. They have 2000 acres of ground to enjoy, providing an adrenaline-filled experience.
