The Old House in Bootle offers delightful self-catering accommodation in a charming Cumbrian property dating back over 250 years. Set within the Lake District National Park, it combines historic character with modern comforts, making it an ideal base for a relaxing break.

Accommodation
The cosy and tastefully furnished house sleeps up to 8 guests, perfect for families or groups.

On the ground floor, there is a welcoming living room complete with a log burner, Freesat TV and DVD player. The fully equipped kitchen includes a range of appliances such as a dishwasher, along with a kitchen table for informal dining. Guests can also enjoy meals in the separate dining room or in the kitchen diner, which offers lovely views of the garden.

Upstairs on the first floor, there are two large main bedrooms which can be arranged as either super king-size beds or twin singles. A third bedroom contains bunk beds, and there is a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The top floor features two attic rooms, each with a single bed. One room includes a screen and bean bags for gaming, while the other offers a table football table.

Outside, there is a covered patio area with a table and chairs, ideal for al fresco dining in warmer weather. A secure outbuilding is also available for storing bikes or other valuable equipment.

Visiting the Area
The property is within walking distance of a village shop and café. Ravenglass is just a few miles away, while the Lake District offers an abundance of breathtaking scenery, including mountains, lakes and rolling countryside. Guests can also take on the challenge of climbing Scafell Pike, England’s highest peak.

Local attractions include Muncaster Castle, Lowther Castle & Gardens, Castlerigg Stone Circle, The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and National Trust Sizergh.

Rates range from £599 to £749 per week depending on the season.

The Old House in Bootle offers delightful self catering accommodation. Our Cumbrian house dates back over 250 years and now offers modern accommodation in The lake District.

Accommodation

Our cosy property is tastefully furnished and sleeps up to 8 people, great for a family or group holiday.

Downstairs there is a lovely living room with a toasty log burner, Freesast TV and DVD play. Enjoy some home-cooking in the fully equipped kitchen that comes with a range of appliances including a dishwasher, plus a kitchen table. You can also savour some delicious meals in the dining room which has a sash window that enjoys garden views.

Upstairs on the first floor is a bedroom that can be made as a super king-size bed or two single beds. A further bunkroom is available and a family bathroom with a large jacuzzi bath. On the top floor is a second bedroom/snug TV room with bean bags, a futon, TV and DVD player. The top floor bedroom has a futon and a single bed, plus a small pool table that can be made as table football.

Outside there is a covered patio area with a table and chairs for al fresco dining when the sun is shining. A lockable shed is also available.

Visiting Bootle & Exploring Cumbria

We are within walking distance of a lovely village shop and pub. You can also visit Ravenglass, just a few miles away. The Lake District has lots of stunning scenery to enjoy, home to mountains, lakes and gorgeous countryside. You can also hike Scafell Pike, England’s highest Peak. Excellent attractions to visit include:
