Millmans Cottages, Marldon, Torquay, Devon, The English Riviera


Millmans Cottages are a charming collection of self-catering holiday homes nestled in the beautiful South Hams countryside, in the village of Marldon near Torquay in Devon. Rose Cottage – Sleeps 4

Rose Cottage is a traditional two-storey cottage featuring a spacious sitting and dining room furnished with comfortable cottage-style furniture, including a recliner chair. The ground floor also includes a bright, modern, well-fitted galley kitchen. Upstairs, there is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a modern shower room.

Honeysuckle Cottage – Sleeps 6 + 1

Honeysuckle Cottage is the largest of the properties and is ideal for extended families or groups of friends. It offers direct access to the cottage garden, sun deck and solar-heated pool, as well as its own private terrace with outdoor dining furniture—perfect for alfresco meals or morning coffee in the sunshine.

On the ground floor, Honeysuckle features a lounge and dining area with natural stone flooring, comfortable furnishings and a modern, well-equipped kitchen with a stable door overlooking the terrace, garden and pool. Upstairs, there are three spacious bedrooms decorated in soft pastel shades, two of which include vanity units and wash basins, along with ample storage. The cottage also benefits from a modern family bathroom with bath and shower, plus a separate toilet.

The water supply for Honeysuckle Cottage comes from the property’s own natural spring, offering exceptionally fresh-tasting water. The cottage is well equipped with larger pots and pans, extra crockery, cutlery and glassware, all linen, and a supply of environmentally friendly cleaning products.

Lilac Cottage – Sleeps 1 or 2

Lilac Cottage is a cosy, characterful two-storey beamed cottage and an ideal romantic hideaway. The ground floor offers an open-plan sitting and dining area with comfortable furnishings, a newly fitted white kitchen, an entrance lobby and a toilet. Upstairs, there is an open-plan double bedroom with an en-suite shower and wash basin, decorated in soft lilac tones to complement the exposed beams and featuring an Art Nouveau dressing table.

Lilac Cottage also has a secluded outdoor seating area in a quiet corner of the garden, overlooking the cottage garden and bird feeders—an ideal spot to enjoy an evening drink while watching the many feathered visitors.

Visiting the Area

Millmans Cottages are perfectly positioned for exploring the South West of England. The surrounding area offers a wide selection of pubs, cafés and restaurants serving delicious local produce. Marldon itself is known for its beautiful lanes, countryside, ancient church and the Church House Inn, all of which feature in several published walking guides. Walks range from gentle village strolls to longer adventures of up to ten miles, taking in Compton Castle and nearby villages.

Guests may also wish to visit nearby attractions such as Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones or River Dart Country Park, all within easy reach of the cottages.
