Accommodation

There are two cottages available, Drovers Cottage and Croft Cottage. Both cottages can be combined to sleep up to 12 people, ideal for 2 families. Please note, they do not accept parties.

Drovers Cottage

The cottage sleeps up to 6 people in 3 bedrooms: 1 main double, 1 twin and 1 single/double bed sofa. Downstairs there is a shower room and a second bathroom has a shower over a bath. The well-equipped kitchen comes with a range of appliances: dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric hob, microwave, grill, toaster and kettle. There is a dining table for up to 6 people. Entertainment facilities include Freesat TV and a DVD player. Outside there is garden furniture for al fresco dining in the afternoon sun.

Croft Cottage

They offer accommodation for up to 6 people and the cottage is well-equipped throughout. Inside the is a well-equipped kitchen including a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric hob, microwave, grill, toaster and kettle. Entertainment facilities include Freesat TV and a DVD player. There is a dining table for up to 6 people. Bedrooms consist of 1 main double, 1 twin and 1 single/double bed sofa. Outside they have garden furniture, perfect for a glass of wine in the evening sun.

Visting Patton & Exploring Cumbria

The cottages are only 2 miles from Kendal and just 12 miles from Lake Windermere, making this a great base for exploring the area. The M6 Motorway is easily accessible and lots of fell walks can be enjoyed locally.

The cosy relaxing sitting room/ dining area has a smart TV and air source heating throughout. There is a shower and WC, a fully equipped kitchen with a table and chairs. The utility room is equipped with a washing machine and deep freeze. There is a small garden and parking for 2 vehicles and outdoor storage facilities.

Local Area

There are many places to visit while staying here. Lynwood is situated in the heart of Neolithic Orkney, with the Standing Stones of Stenness, the Ring of Brodgar, the Ness of Brodgar and Maeshowe a 10-minute walk away. Skara Brae and Skaill House are situated in Sandwick which is a 10-minute drive away. Visitor passes are available for a range of sites on Orkney. There are two swimming pools on the mainland, one in Stromness and one in Kirkwall. The Pickaquoy Centre has a range of activities to suit all ages. Stromness and Kirkwall both have their own golf courses. Lynwood is situated in the countryside, with fields surrounding the property. With views of the Stenness and Harray Lochs, wildlife is right on your doorstep.

Inside there is a fully equipped kitchen with a range of appliances: a split-level electric oven and an induction hob plus a microwave cooker, refrigerator and dishwasher. There is a pine table and dining area. A hall cupboard houses a deep freeze.

Unwind in the lounge that has an electric fire, television, DVD player and easy chairs. You can enjoy views over the garden and river.

In total, there are 3 bedrooms. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms that share a bathroom. Downstairs there is a bedroom and a shower room. A cloakroom has a further WC.

Outside there is a large garden to relax in and there is a small stream running by.

The cottage is perfect for exploring Acharacle, home to a post office, tea room, 2 hotels, fish and chip shop, bakery and village stores. You can fish on Loch Shiel and in the River Shiel. Locally there are lots of walks to enjoy and around a 30-minute drive away is the beach at Dorlin
