Cloag Farm Cottages are a group of three self-catering holiday homes located just outside the village of Methven, set within the peace and tranquillity of the Perthshire countryside. The cottages enjoy stunning panoramic views across Strathearn and are situated only seven miles from Perth, making them an excellent base for exploring Perthshire and its wealth of castles, historic sites and scenic landscapes. Cloag Farm is a working farm producing oats for porridge, barley for whisky and beer, and some wheat, adding to the authentic rural character of the setting.
About Cloag Farm Cottages
Each cottage comfortably sleeps up to four guests and features one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. The twin bedrooms are furnished with 2ft 6in beds in the West and East cottages and 3ft beds in the Central cottage. All beds are made up ready for arrival, with continental quilts, sheets, pillows and blankets included in the price.
The kitchens are fully equipped for self-catering and include electric cooking facilities, a fridge, microwave and automatic washing machine. All cottages benefit from full oil-fired central heating and hot water. Living rooms feature open fires, with coal always available, as well as a television, DVD player, telephone and free fast fibre Wi-Fi.
The cottages are safely set away from main roads and traffic, offering panoramic southerly views. Each property has ample parking immediately beside it and is surrounded by lawns, with mature woodland providing a scenic backdrop.
Cloag Farm Cottages are inspected by VisitScotland and have been awarded a 3-Star rating. The properties also hold a Silver Green Tourism Business Award and are members of the Association of Scotland’s Self Caterers, reflecting their commitment to quality and sustainability.
Visiting Methven & Exploring Perthshire
The village of Methven is within walking distance or just a two-minute drive away. Local amenities include a post office and shop, fish and chip and Chinese takeaway, a public house, a high-quality Indian restaurant and a garage for vehicle servicing. The village also offers a mini supermarket and a park with children’s play equipment and tennis courts.
Perth is approximately 15 minutes away by car and offers excellent shopping, with a wide range of shops and supermarkets. The city is also home to a busy concert hall, museum, art gallery and theatre, along with family-friendly attractions including a children’s indoor theme park, ice rink and a leisure pool, all popular with visitors.
