Lower Micklin Farm Holiday Cottages, Denstone, Alton Towers, Staffordshire (Sleeps 1-16)

Lower Micklin Self Catering Accommodation is set in 10 acres of grassland half of a mile outside Alton village. We are situated at the edge of the Peak District and a few miles from Uttoxeter racecourse.

Cottage 1

Cottage One sleeps 6 people and is arranged on a single floor with two bedrooms, kitchen area, sitting area and shower room. With wide doorways it is also suitable for wheelchair access.

The kitchen is equipped with a range of pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. It is also furnished with a four ring electric hob, oven, toaster, kettle and fridge with ice-box and separate freezer. A small selection of tea, coffee, milk and sugar is provided for that all important thirst-quencher on arrival. In the living area you will find a colour TV and DVD player, and a dining table and chairs. There are also exposed beams, stained wooden floor and brickwork pillars.

Cottage 1 has one double room and one room fitted with a double bed and a set of bunk beds.

Cottage 2

The kitchen area contains a fridge with ice-box, 4 plate electric hob, oven with integral grill, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. All you need to bring is your food. A selection of tea, coffee, milk and sugar is provided for your use on arrival.

The spacious living area, situated opposite the kitchen is also provided with pine dining table and chairs and colour TV with Freeview and DVD player.

Upstairs there is a double bedroom and a separate partitioned area with one single bed and a set of bunk beds.

Cottage 3

Similar to cottage two, sleeps up to 5 people. The ground floor consists of kitchen area, living area and shower room, but upstairs there is one large open plan bedroom with a double bed and 3 single beds.

The living area has plenty of comfortable seating and a colour television and DVD player are provided. There is also a pine table and chairs.

The kitchen area contains a fridge, 4 plate electric hob, oven with integral grill, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery. All you need to bring is your food. A selection of tea, coffee, milk and sugar is provided for your use on arrival.

More Information

All our lodges are self contained, spacious and well appointed. Each cottage has its own fully equipped kitchen area, large shower room, and lounge/dining area with colour TV and dvd player. Centrally heated and double glazed, they are warm and comfortable whatever the weather. All towels and linen are provided.

Guests are welcome to make use of the spacious outside facilities including climbing frame, swings, ball game field with goalposts and walking paths. Barbeque facilities, including fuel, are available on request. This outdoor space makes our cottages a great alternative to hotels near Alton Towers.

There is plenty to see and do in the area, we are only a five minute drive from Alton Towers and we are also the perfect base for walking holidays with the Peak District National Park nearby. Other attractions in the area include:

There is a patio area at the rear of the cottage with table and chairs where you can watch the wildlife of Cannock Chase and enjoy the peace and quiet while the children can play on the large lawned area nearby.

Dalraddy Cottage is a warm welcoming bungalow with comfortable quality furniture. The oil-fired central heating and a high level of insulation throughout, ensure that it is comfortable all year round, whatever the weather. The fully fitted kitchen has a fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, ceramic hotplateoven, microwave, blender, Dyson cleaner, Viners 50yr cutlery plus all the usual refinements associated with a cottage of this quality. There is also a dining table with seating for four and a view towards the paddock at the rear of the cottage.

We also provide high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and duvet sets, hypoallergenic pillows and Egyptian cotton towels. If you stay 7 nights or more there is also Egyptian cotton bathrobes.

At the rear of the cottage, the French windows open out onto a patio area with table and chairs for guests' use and a variety of potted plants. The raised bank at the rear of the cottage leads to the paddock which is currently home to our geese.
