Originally a stone Methodist Chapel dating back to 1846, the building has been thoughtfully converted to provide superb holiday accommodation while retaining much of its original character and charm, including oak beams and original pews.

Accommodation

The ground floor lounge is large and spacious, featuring the original pulpit, ample comfortable seating and a TV. A dining area overlooks the lower floor lounge, creating a unique and sociable layout. There is also an additional lounge located on the second floor, providing further space for guests to relax.

The fully equipped kitchen includes everything required for a comfortable stay, with ample crockery and cutlery for large groups.

Bathroom facilities are generously provided throughout the property. On the ground floor, there is a bathroom with toilet, basin, bath and a large separate walk-in shower, along with an additional shower in the triple bedroom. The middle floor includes a family bathroom with toilet, basin, bath and separate shower cubicle, plus an additional shower in the family bedroom. The top floor features three en suite shower rooms. All bedrooms, except one, have vanity basins.

There are a total of eight bedrooms, sleeping up to 20 guests. Bedroom arrangements are as follows:

• Ground floor: One double, one twin and one family room

• First floor: One family room

• Second floor: One twin, one triple, one double and one family room

The Gatehouse offers luxurious self catering accommodation in Makeney near Milford. Our recently renovated barn conversion in Derbyshire is furnished to the highest standards, ideal for an unforgettable holiday.

Our magnificent property sleeps up to 18 people, perfect for a large group or family looking for somewhere special to stay.

The front door leads to a stunning reception hallway featuring an oak staircase leading to the first floor. A second lounge is on the ground floor and features a hallway extending to the swimming pool. The first floor comes with a spacious open plan kitchen/dining area with a traditional wood-burning stove. 

We have 6 bedrooms available, including double and single rooms. Some of the double rooms can be made into twins or 3 singles. Four of the bedrooms are on the ground floor. Each bedroom also comes with Free Sat. 

Outside there is a large garden with decking. Ideal for relaxing with a glass or two whilst the sun is shining.
