Providence Cottage, Port Isaac, Cornwall (Sleeps 1-8)

Providence Cottage offers self-catering accommodation on a superb clifftop location on the eastern side of the old fishing harbour of Port Isaac in Cornwall.

Our holiday cottage sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms, spread over 3 levels and with a bathroom on each floor, there is plenty of room for everyone. The master bedroom comes with en suite facilities and enjoys sea views.

The self-catering cottage was completely rebuilt 20 years ago and emerged from a tiny cottage which had previously formed part of "Providence Cellar" where over 100 years ago the local fisherman would have spent their days mending nets and "yarning" to each other.

The kitchen and open plan living area are on the first floor. There are two large bay windows, comfy seating and a dining table that converts to a snooker table. A small bunk-bedded room comes with an en suite shower and loo. The living area opens onto a large astroturfed outdoor balcony with a swing seat and picnic bench. The perfect place for a morning coffee whilst admiring the view.

The ground floor includes a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a utility room with a washer and dryer. The spacious bathroom is on this floor and has a whirlpool bath and Sauna. A second outdoor seating area is in the paved garden.

The beaches of Port Isaac and Port Gaverne are within walking distance and the popular surfing beach of Polzeath is a 15-minute drive, also Daymer Bay and Trebarwith popular with families. Rock is a 20 drive where all popular water sports are catered for and where the ferry runs to Padstow.

The market town of Wadebridge is 10 miles away and has many independent shops along with a large supermarket. Wadebridge is also the central point of the Camel Trail, where bikes can be hired for the wonderful cycle rides along the Camel estuary and upriver towards Bodmin. The Eden Project is 40 mins drive away and The Lost Gardens of Heligan a little further. King Arthur's Tintagel is 20 mins and picturesque Boscastle too.

Ettrick View provides wonderful self-catering accommodation in the gorgeous Ettrick Valley. Situated in a beautiful part of the Scottish Borders, our holiday home is perfect for a magical getaway.

Our fabulous stone-built 7-bedroom house sleeps up to 16 people, great for a family or group looking for somewhere special to stay. The house has been beautifully converted from a 19th Century farm steading to provide high-quality accommodation.

Inside there is a well-equipped kitchen for home-cooking which enjoys amazing views of the hills. Excellent appliances include a cooker, large combination microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, cutlery, pots and pans and cooking equipment. A large kitchen table with benches is perfect for enjoying some breakfast, whilst the elegant dining room is great for a relaxing dinner with your loved ones. After a day of sightseeing, unwind in the spacious lounge which has a big flat-screen TV, pool table and table tennis.

Downstairs there are two attractive bedrooms: a twin/super king room and a king room. The rooms share a downstairs toilet and shower room. Upstairs there are 5 more bedrooms: 1 family room, 3 double and 1 twin. Two of the room are en suite and a family bathroom is also available.

A cot, high chair and stair gates are available at no extra cost.

The large garden with table and chairs are perfect for relaxing with a morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. There is also a BBQ available. We have lockable storage available for bikes and fishing gear etc. A large, shared courtyard area with seating next to the house is available to use, plus 4 acres of delightful grounds to roam freely in.

The holiday homes are in an ideal position to make the most of the local area. This area is perfect for cycling with its rolling hills and quiet winding roads with lovely scenery and a real feeling of escape. Cycle across the Ettrick and Yarrow Valleys to Innerleithen or follow one of the several major cycling routes.

You could be spoilt for choice here with several excellent golf courses all within about 30 minutes drive from us. Many of the Border towns are very pretty and are great as a base for a day out. There are plenty of independent shops and galleries to browse as well as walks along rivers, lovely restaurants and cafes. Brilliant attractions to visit include:
