Railway Tavern Cottages offer charming self-catering accommodation in Aby. Our two properties are great for a relaxing getaway in a lovely part of the country.

Both of our properties are beautifully furnished and come with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. They are adjacent to our lovely pub, the Railway Tavern. Both properties sleep up to 4 people and come with a fully equipped kitchen for home-cooking and a dining area for 4 people. Excellent facilities include a smart TV, DVD player, CD player/radio, Wi-Fi and all bedding/towels. We provide a complimentary welcome pack including tea, coffee and milk. 

You can stroll over to our award-winning pub for some scrumptious food and great drinks. We offer home-cooked food for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The pub is closed on Tuesdays.

While staying with us you can visit the quaint market town of Alford, famous for Alford Manor House and Alford Craft Market. Alford Manor House is home to a museum and great tea rooms, and regularly holds lots of events throughout the year. The Lincolnshire Wolds is great for walking, horse riding and biking, making it perfect for outdoor enthusiasts.

Canal Farm Cottages, Austen Fen, Louth, Lincolnshire (Sleeps 1-11)

Canal Farm Cottages are three homely self-catering cottages. They consist of Ticklepenny, Barn Owl and Kingfisher. They are located in the small hamlet of Austen Fen near Louth in Lincolnshire and are on the banks of the Louth Canal.

Each has its own private courtyard area and there is a shared utility room with laundry facilities, tourist information, books, games and a toilet. Children are very welcome - there is a grassy games area where they can play safely. A cot and a high chair are available on request.

From the cottages, guests can enjoy lovely views over open countryside to the Lincolnshire Wolds and the majestic spire of St. James Church in Louth, just a few miles away. Louth is a beautiful unspoilt Georgian town, with a bustling market.

Birdlife is abundant, and you may catch a glimpse of our resident barn owl. Walkers and birdwatchers will love the coastal nature reserves which are close by. Seal pups can be seen on the beaches in autumn and the Marsh Orchids in the early summer are spectacular.

The Louth Canal offers opportunities for fishing and walking along the Tow Path Walk. Canal Farm is on the Lincolnshire Cycle Route and bicycles can be hired. Further afield for day trips are the city of Lincoln, the Humber Bridge, The National Fishing Heritage Centre in Grimsby, and many more other interesting visitor attractions; information about these will be provided for you.

The local facilities are excellent, with 3 pubs and a cafe serving good food, and a village shop within three miles.

40 Mill Road is a cosy cottage providing stylish self-catering accommodation within the Bailgate area of Lincoln. This is the perfect location for accessing the amenities and attractions of the city. It is also an ideal base for visiting the rural side of Lincolnshire.

This delightful cottage can accommodate 4 people in a king-size bedroom and a bedroom with a single bed and stacker bed underneath. The living/dining room has views of Ellis Windmill and is equipped with a TV, DVD player and wood burner. There is a fully fitted kitchen which includes a Smeg double oven.

Outside is an enclosed courtyard with seating. There is also a small garden at the front. Across the courtyard is a utility room with clothes washing facilities.

There are several amenities within a short walking distance including a shop, pharmacy, cafes, bakers and takeaways. The rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds are further afield. These provide a great area for walking and cycling.

Alternatively, visit attractions such as Gainsborough Old Hall, Doddington Hall, Gibralta Point, Lincoln Castle & Lincoln Cathedral.

Windermere is our self catering holiday home at the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds that can accommodate up to 4 people. Our holiday home is set in a quiet and rural part of Lincolnshire, just 3 miles east of Spilsby at Great Steeping. The holiday home is conveniently situated for exploring the Coast, Fens and Wolds of Lincolnshire.

Our holiday cottage consists of a double bedroom, twin bedroom. Outside there is a large garden with off road parking for 2 cars and a patio with garden furniture. Facilities at the holiday home include:

Great Steeping is three miles east of Spilsby and is conveniently situated for exploring the coast, fens and wolds of Lincolnshire. The village was home to RAF Spilsby during the Second World War parts of which can still be seen nearby. It is an ideal location for walks, cycling, horse riding, bird watching and fishing. There are activities to suit all ages and abilities.

The nearest town is Spilsby, which is three miles from the village. It was granted its market charted in 1301 and still hosts a bustling market each Monday. The east coast resort of Skegness is only 12 miles from the cottage. It offers an award-winning beach and many attractions.

There are plenty of footpaths on which to explore the countryside and within only ten minute walk you will discover a four-acre coarse fishing lake. Those who also enjoy cycling, horse riding, fly-fishing, golf and bowls are also well catered for nearby.

Just a ten minute drive from Burgh le Marsh is Skegness, a fantastic resort where you can enjoy a great day out on the award-winning golden beach, as well as visiting a great selection of attractions suitable for the whole family.
