Most of the self-catering cottages offer a combination of upstairs galleried bedrooms and ground floor twin rooms. Cots, high chairs and stair gates are available on request.

The open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas feature fully fitted kitchens with electric cooker/oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and automatic washing machine. Upper Calffield, Camrose, Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire


Upper Calffield Farm offers a range of accommodation, including a six-bedroom farmhouse and two converted barns. The farmhouse, which sleeps 11, and the two-bedroom barn, which sleeps four, are available for holiday lets all year round and are just as popular at Christmas as during the summer months. The property is set in beautiful countryside, ten minutes from the amenities of the county town of Haverfordwest and a 15-minute drive from a selection of wide, sandy beaches and the famous Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

The grounds are home to a variety of rescue animals, including a Shetland pony, turkeys, ducks and chickens. Children who would like to meet the animals during their stay can be introduced by arrangement.

The Farmhouse (Sleeps 11)

This spacious property is ideal for larger groups. The characterful living room features exposed beams, natural stone walls and two separate seating areas, each with a woodburner. Entertainment facilities include NOW TV and a DVD player.

The well-equipped kitchen includes an American fridge freezer, dishwasher, range cooker with two ovens and a microwave. A large oak dining table seats up to 10 people and overlooks the garden and paddocks. Patio doors lead out to the garden, where there is outdoor furniture and a log cabin games room complete with table tennis, dartboard, TV, sofa and comfortable chairs.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed, A-frame beamed ceiling and a full-length picture window with stunning views. It also has a separate dressing room and en suite shower room. There are two additional double bedrooms, one small double and a family bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs, there is a twin bedroom (which can be converted to a king-size) and a single bedroom, both sharing access to a large Jack and Jill en suite shower room with walk-in shower. A further small shower room is located off the utility room.

The Barn (Sleeps 4)

This superbly converted barn offers spectacular open-plan accommodation while retaining original features such as beams and arrow slit windows. The spacious reception area has an oak-beamed A-frame ceiling, oak flooring with a large oriental rug and a conservatory dining area with French doors opening onto a terrace with outdoor seating. Furnishings include a large leather corner sofa, additional sofa bed and a wall-mounted TV with BBTV.

The kitchen is well equipped with an American fridge freezer, range cooker and dishwasher. The master bedroom includes a large American king-size oak bed, extensive wardrobes, oak flooring and French doors opening onto the terrace. The luxurious main bathroom features a freestanding bath, walk-in shower with rainfall showerhead and WC. A second bedroom has a double bed and wardrobe, and there is an additional shower room with WC and washing machine. A lobby area provides hanging space for coats.

Visiting the Area

There are many attractions within easy reach of Upper Calffield Farm. Within a 20-minute drive are several expansive sandy beaches, including Newgale Beach, as well as the spectacular Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Boat trips offer opportunities to see seals, dolphins, porpoises and even the occasional whale. Historic sites include Pembroke Castle, birthplace of Henry VII, and Carew Castle. Nearby family-friendly attractions include a trampoline park, an indoor play park and the Wickedly Welsh Chocolate Company.
