The 35-acre Langdale Estate, set in the heart of the English Lake District, is a natural woodland haven with streams and tarns, dotted with impressive millstones and carefully preserved reminders of its history as a 19th-century gunpowder works. Surrounded by stunning scenery, the estate offers a unique blend of heritage, luxury and tranquillity.

Accommodation

The estate provides a choice of lodge and apartment accommodation, sleeping up to eight guests, all rated 5 Star by Visit England. On-site facilities include the Stove Restaurant & Bar, Wainwrights’ Inn – a traditional Lakeland pub – Brimstone Spa and complimentary use of the Fitness & Leisure Facilities. There are also two hotels located within the estate grounds.

With over 100 lodge and apartment units available for timeshare purchase and self-catering rental, the estate caters to a variety of stays. It also features four purpose-built conference rooms, making it suitable for business events and gatherings.

Coniston Lodge:
These Scandinavian-style properties are located on the main estate, with Lodge 81 being a traditional stone-built Lakeland cottage. All lodges are single-storey, except for Lodges 24 and 31.

Each lodge includes:

• One double bedroom with en-suite whirlpool bathroom.

• One twin bedroom.

• One double pull-down bed in the lounge.

• Separate shower room with sauna.

• Fully fitted kitchen.

• Dining area.

• Full balcony.

The kitchens are fully equipped and include a microwave, food processor, coffee maker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, iron and ironing board, vacuum cleaner, crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Our holiday cottages are situated in the middle of the Great Langdale valley, in 2 acres of garden and fellside. This makes them perfectly situated for walking. There is no need to move the car as some of the best walks in the Lake District start right from your front door! Nearby routes include:
