The Old Schoolhouse provides a unique collection of four self-catering holiday cottages within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. The perfect location for those seeking a tranquil retreat and enjoy walking, cycling, golfing and family/friend gatherings.
All four cottages have been lovingly restored and furnished to give a contemporary, luxurious feel. There are 2 three-bedroom and 2 two-bedroom cottages. The living rooms in the two-bedroom cottages have an open plan, contemporary feel and include wood flooring and hi-tech features, including flat-screen TVs, Sky Q (including Sky Movies and Sky Sports) and Wi-Fi. In addition to the above, the three bedrooms are set over four levels and have a beautiful, natural slate feature wall, viewed from the mezzanine living area. The three bedrooms have a modern family bathroom and also a wet room opposite the master bedroom. The two-bedroom cottages have a modern, stylish shower room.
Each cottage is equipped with all necessary appliances for a very pleasant getaway, e.g. dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, hairdryer, iron, travel cot.
The cottages have an outdoor area for seating, accessible from the patio doors in the kitchen/diner.
Cottages can be hired individually or as a whole unit (all 4 cottages). All cottages booked together can comfortably sleep 20 guests and with the addition of sofa beds in each of the cottages you could sleep up to 26 guests.
Loch Lomond is a two-minute drive or twenty-five-minute walk from The Old Schoolhouse. The Loch is the biggest loch in the UK, surrounded by amazing mountains, including Ben Lomond. The views from the shores of Loch Lomond are breathtaking and even more impressive from the peak of Ben Lomond, which can be climbed from Rowardennan, seven miles from The Old Schoolhouse.
You can experience a piece of history by visiting Rob Roy’s Cave near Inversnaid in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. Balmaha also offers fishing from the pier and regular boat trips to the nearby islands including Wallaby Island, home to Scotland's only colony of Wallabies. You can boat from Milarrochy bay and cycle and walk along the nearby West Highland Way and Conich Hill. Nearby Balloch also boasts the sea life aquarium, an exciting new visiting centre (Loch Lomond Shores) and many shops and restaurants including Jenners, a famous Edinburgh department store offering everything from designer fashion to the food hall with the best of Scottish products.
Loch Lomond is the perfect base to visit several world-famous Scottish golf courses, including Loch Lomond, Gleneagles, St Andrews Old Course, Turnberry and Carnoustie. Local golf welcoming visitors include The Carrick, The Buchanan Castle Golf Club, Hilton Park Golf Club and The Vale of Leven Golf Club. The famous Loch Lomond golf course is only a twenty minutes drive from The Old Schoolhouse.

Third Farm is a modern, 3 bedroom farmhouse set within the tranquil Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Situated just one mile outside the village of Gartocharn and with the idyllic surroundings of Ben Lomond on one side and the Campsie Hills on the other, this self catering holiday cottage is the ideal base for any Scottish getaway.
The farmhouse is fully equipped, centrally heated, double glazed and furnished to a high standard throughout. It boasts three large bedrooms; all with king-size beds and each with their own TV. Two of the rooms have zip and link mattresses, which allow the alternative of making these rooms into twin rooms if required. One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor with the other two upstairs making this ideal for those with limited mobility.
There is a spacious and modern bathroom with Jacuzzi bath, shower and heated towel rails and a comfortable living area with open gas fire and flat-screen satellite television.
The kitchen/dining area is fully equipped with oven, grill, hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher and there is a separate pantry off the kitchen has a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer.
The Farmhouse provides an excellent location from which to explore Loch Lomond, The Trossachs and Central Scotland. It offers an ideal family home for a break from the hustle and bustle of city living. It is a working farm with grazing beef cattle in the summer and breeding ewes all year round. In the spring it is lovely to watch the newborn lambs coming into the world and develop into healthy, delightful youngsters.

Barnhill House offers a three bedroomed, completely self-contained flat situated within the main house on the Barnhill estate in Milton Brae. Surrounded by three acres of mature lawns and gardens and set in 200 acres of working farmland, wooded walkways and hills, this self-catering apartment offers an idyllic rural setting.
