Ash Lodge is a stylish, purpose-built, single-storey wooden holiday lodge set within a small and peaceful park beside the River Clun. Accommodation

Highgrove Barns, Sibdon Carwood, Craven Arms, Shropshire (Sleeps 1-2)


Highgrove Barns are a pair of self-catering 18th Century barns near Craven Arms. The barns are near Ludlow. The properties in Shropshire are surrounded by the Shropshire Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are the perfect base for a couple who want a relaxing break.

Accommodation:
Our barns each have 1 double bedroom with an en suite shower room. They are south facing and a large parking area and secure garden are available.

The barns have a mellow Welsh slate roof and waney-edged timber. You will find exposed stone walls, and vaulted ceilings with original oak beams. Oak kitchen units, slate floors in the living areas and carpeted bedrooms are in both properties.

The Byre (sleeps 2 + cot + child's bed): The barn has views from the Corvedale nearly to Ironbridge. You can also enjoy views of the Sir Benjamin Flounders folly. This was once owned by the actress Julie Christie and has been recently fully restored.

The Dairy (sleeps 2 + cot): The barn has views over the former farmyard and over Stokesay. You can see from Whitcliffe to the Mortimer Forest.

Visiting Sibdon Carwood & Exploring Shropshire:
A 25-minute stroll towards the Long Mynd brings visitors to Wistanstow. This is famous for The Plough Inn and Wood's brewery. This is home of the prize-winning Shropshire Lad and many other real ales. The 12th Century fortified manor house of Stokesay Castle is close by. Craven Arms is only a mile away and is home to South Shropshire's award-winning Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre and the Land of Lost Content Museum. It also has a supermarket, shops, post office and bank and a mainline railway station on the Manchester - Cardiff route.

Much Wenlock, a scenic country drive away, was recently named by Sunday Times and Savills Estate Agents as one of the best British villages to live in. The Wenlock Olympian Games are still held in July each year.

Our holiday cottage enjoys enviable views of the valley and the rolling Shropshire hills. The fully restored property nestles in 20 acres of woods and wonderful walks on the hillside high above the historic village of Clun.

The holiday cottage is spacious and comfortable with a hall, cloakroom, utility, large sitting room and bedroom with giant double or two single beds and dressing area. Large bathroom with separate power shower, fully fitted kitchen.

Full oil-powered central heating, log fire (fuel provided), double-glazing, dishwasher, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble drier, State-of-the-art Linn HiFi system for radio and CDs, television, DVD and telephone. South-facing sheltered terrace area with a picnic table, oak bench and sunbathing easy chairs.

Ash Lodge in Clunton offers outstanding self-catering accommodation in a unique property. Our lodge near Craven Arms in Shropshire is surrounded by glorious countryside, a haven for nature lovers.

Accommodation:
Our gorgeous ground-level, bespoke wooden holiday lodge is nestled in a small park beside the River Clun, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The lodge boasts stunning countryside views, ideal for the ultimate country retreat.

Inside this fabulous lodge is a spacious lounge with comfy seating and an LED TV, DVD player/Blu-ray player and music centre. This is a great spot to relax after a day of exploring. Cook up a storm in the fully-equipped kitchen that comes with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge, dishwasher and large quantity of utensils. Enjoy some delicious dishes in the dining room around the oak table.

2 beautiful bedrooms are available: a master room and a twin room. Both rooms share a modern bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower, WC and hand washbasin.

Outside there is a large, decked area with a table and chairs, a patio lounge set, a sun umbrella and reclining sun lounger chairs, offering a great spot for al fresco dining when the sun is shining. Onsite there is also a laundry room and bike store. Fishing is permitted on the site providing a rod license is owned and it's in season.

Just a 10-minute stroll away a delightful pub, The Crown Inn, serving fantastic meals and a hearty Sunday roast. You can also enjoy some wonderful wines and lovely local ales. Only a 5-minute drive away is Clun, home to lots of pubs, shops and tea shops. You can also visit the glorious ruins of Clun Castle and the 15th Century packhorse bridge. Great attractions to visit further afield include:

Ludlow Castle.
Avebury.
Ludlow Museum.
Whitcliffe Common Nature Reserve.

Clun Valley Retreat, Clunton, Craven Arms, Shropshire (Sleeps 1-4)


Clun Valley Retreat provides self-catering accommodation, situated in a secluded position in the village of Clunton near Craven Arms at the heart of the Clun Valley in Shropshire.

The apartment can accommodate up to four people and comprises:
Two twin bedrooms.
A shower room with an electric shower and a large airing cupboard.
An open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area.
Washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, electric cooker and microwave.
Sitting area with two large sofas, one of which converts into a double bed.
Television and portable CD/Radio player
All linen is supplied except towels.
Water and electricity are included.

Clunton boasts a village-owned pub offering real ale and home-cooked food within walking distance of our accommodation.

We encourage walkers, cyclists and riders or those who simply want a retreat away from city life. We are conveniently sited for Ludlow, famous for its historic Castle and Michelin starred restaurants. We are also just a drive away from Powys Castle, David Austin Roses and the Severn Valley Railway.

The Long Mynd & Offa's Dyke offer great walking and along with Bury Ditches Hill Fort and Clunton Coppice Nature Reserve form just some of the circular walks on offer from our doorstep.

Being in the middle of a bird-watching site recommended in 'Where to watch birds in the West Midlands, this is a bird watchers paradise. The Granary itself is home to Swifts, while Sallows and House Martins nest in our barns.
