Rose Cottage Farm offers two beautifully appointed self-catering holiday cottages, located in the peaceful village of Sutton-under-Whitestonecliffe near Thirsk in North Yorkshire. Perfect for couples, each oak-beamed cottage accommodates two adults and is designed to provide a restful countryside escape. The two cottages—Briar Cottage and Bramble Cottage—are situated adjacent to one another, making them ideal for friends or family wishing to book together while enjoying their own space.

Briar Cottage

Briar Cottage is a spacious one-bedroom retreat, ideal for couples seeking comfort and tranquillity. The ground floor features a luxurious super king-sized bedroom with high-quality Bedeck bedding, along with a separate bathroom and shower. Upstairs, guests will find an open-plan lounge and dining area, elegantly divided from the fully refurbished kitchen by a rustic oak beam. The kitchen is well-equipped with a full-size oven and hob, microwave, fridge with 3-star freezer compartment, and ample storage. Large windows in the lounge provide picturesque views over the patio, pergola, and surrounding open countryside.

Bramble Cottage

Bramble Cottage offers cosy accommodation in a characterful beamed setting. On the ground floor is a welcoming king-sized bedroom with plush Bedeck bedding and a modern en-suite shower room. The upper floor comprises an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge area, thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience. The kitchen includes a full-size oven and hob, microwave, and fridge with a 3-star freezer compartment. Guests can enjoy stunning panoramic views across the Vale of York to the Pennines, creating a perfect countryside backdrop for a relaxing break.

Facilities & Farm Life

Rose Cottage Farm extends a warm Yorkshire welcome and provides ample off-road parking for guests. A shared patio area and a peaceful, secluded lawn offer plenty of outdoor space to unwind and enjoy the rural setting.

All full-week stays include a complimentary welcome pack. While there are no on-site laundry facilities, hand-washed items can be hung out to dry, and longer-stay guests may request off-site laundry services.

Guests will also enjoy the charm of the farm’s rare and distinctive animals, including Herdwick sheep, a hardy breed native to the Lake District, and Indian Runner Ducks, known for their upright stance and playful personalities.

Rose Cottage Farm comprises two oak beamed separate self catering holiday cottage units which individually cater for two adults sharing. Briar and Bramble's cottage are located adjacent to each other, making the accommodation of larger parties possible by booking both cottages at the same time.

Briar Cottage: One bedroomed, beamed holiday cottage comprising a delightful bedroom (super king or twin bed) with a separate bathroom and shower on the ground floor. Upstairs there is an open plan lounge/dining area which is separated from a fully fitted kitchen by a large oak beam. 

Bramble Cottage: One bedroomed beamed self catering cottage comprising a delightful bedroom (king sized bed) with en suite shower and facilities on the ground floor. Upstairs is an open plan lounge/dining area and fully fitted kitchen. 

Rose Cottage Farm is a pet-friendly accommodation provider. Facilities are available for the accommodation of dogs and cats.

We are able to offer to our visiting guests the use of a secluded des res cat chalet for those people wishing to bring their cats. We do not allow cats in the cottages, but the chalet is bookable for DIY at £10 per week/stay or £5 per day as an attended booking. Cats must have a full current vaccination certificate. We can house 1-3 cats from the same household. Cat litter/food etc., are all purchasable from our premises.

Dogs are allowed, at a charge of £10 per dog per stay. We also have available a fenced off paddock area for exercise.
