Tanylan Farm, Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire (Sleeps 1-16)

Tanylan Farm in Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire, offers stunning self-catering accommodation on a former dairy farm. Situated on 200 acres of stunning land, we are the perfect place to unwind and relax for a holiday.

Situated along the coastal road between Ferryside and Kidwelly it enjoys the convenience of being close to local amenities, whilst enjoying the tranquillity of being in the countryside. Being one of the few holiday destinations between the Gower Peninsula and Pembrokeshire offering breaks in West Wales, Tanylan Farm Holidays is ideally situated for you to explore the beauty and magic of the area.

At only 400 yards from the golden sands of Carmarthen Bay, we can offer you not only the opportunity of relaxing on the beach but also the splendours of the surrounding countryside affording you a truly memorable holiday in west Wales.

Tanylan Farm Holidays is proud to offer four stunningly restored farm cottages and 3 luxurious barn conversions; we challenge you to find more beautiful and relaxing self-catering accommodation in South West Wales at such an affordable rate.

We have three 5 star barn conversions to choose from, all providing the perfect place for peace and relaxation. They are ideal for short breaks or holidays away with friends or family.

The Old Cowshed:
Our luxurious barn conversion sleeps up to 16 people and as the name suggests, The Old Cowshed was originally designed to accommodate up to 48 dairy cows. Built-in 1864, the original design included a mezzanine level to house the farmworkers but this was removed as farming methods changed we needed the height for tractor work.

Ground Floor: Large open plan kitchen, dining and living room. Six individually designed en suite bedrooms, utility room and disabled bathroom.
Mezzanine: Games room, complete with pool table, table football, flat-screen TV with a good section of DVDs. Further en suite bedroom.
Hot tub available.

Coal House:
The stunning barn conversion sleeps 4 – 6 people and was originally a slaughterhouse for pigs and more recently it was used as a coal house, a more suitable name for its current-day use we think.

Ground Floor: Open plan kitchen and dining area separated from the sitting room by the central chimney with a wood-burning stove. There is a sofa bed in the sitting room. Bedroom with king-size bed and en suite bathroom.
First Floor: Twin room with en suite shower room.
Hot tub available.

Ty Llo (Calf House):
Ty Llo sleeps 5 – 6 people and was originally used as a cowshed to store cattle whilst they were ‘dry’, meaning they were in a temporary period where they were not producing milk. As farming methods changed and the ‘dry’ cows were stored elsewhere the barn was used to house and rear calves once they were off mothers' milk.

Details: Open plan kitchen, dining and sitting room. Two bedrooms - one super king with en suite shower room, one triple room with 1 double bed, 1 single bed, a pull out bed and an en suite bathroom.
Hot tub available.

The Longhouse:
Originally named Danylan, this traditional longhouse once served both farmer and livestock from the early 16th Century until it was later converted into workers' accommodation. It was later restored to provide three high-quality holiday cottages:

Hawton:
First Floor: Lounge/kitchen/diner, utility room, separate toilet and basin.
First Floor: Bathroom with separate shower, toilet and basin.
3 bedrooms: 1 double with en suite shower room, toilet and basin.
Hot tub available.

Coeden Afal:
Ground Floor: Lounge, kitchen/diner.
First Floor: Bathroom with shower over bath, toilet and basin.
2 bedrooms: 1 double plus double sofa bed, 1 twin.
Hot tub available.
Wrth y Nant:
Ground Floor: Lounge diner kitchen.
First Floor: Bathroom with shower over bath, toilet and basin.
2 bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin.
hot tub available.

Bryntowy:
Once a farm in its own right, this detached cottage is the picture of innocence, but in fact, carries a sinister history. In the gallery, the bedroom is a "wrecker’s window" which it is said was used during stormy weather to lure ships into apparent safety. Once broken upon the shore, the vessel would be stripped of its treasures. Today it provides high-quality holiday accommodation sleeping, 4-6 people.

Ground Floor: Lounge/diner/kitchen.
First Floor: Bathroom with separate shower, toilet and basin.
2 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, gallery area with 2 single sofa beds.
Hot tub available.

All the barns and cottages provide a range of excellent facilities:

Wi-Fi.
Private hot tubs in all the cottages and barns - bring swimwear & beach towels.
Bed linen and towels.
Cot and high chair.
CD player.
Washing machine.
Microwave.
