Accommodation
We provide memorable self catered holidays for families, friends, couples and individuals. From the moment you arrive we will be your guide! The cottage was originally the farmers ‘Blackhouse’ and had been fully modernised to provide relaxing and comfortable accommodation. There are 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed to sleep 6 people. The bedrooms share a family bathroom. Towels and bedding are included.

Unwind in the cosy lounge that has a toasty wood burning stove, comfy seating and a smart TV with Amazon Firestick, Netflix a DVD player. Electric lighting is provided by the island generator. The fully fitted kitchen/dining room includes a fridge freezer and cooker. You can also relax in the sun filled conservatory whilst enjoying the wonderful views. Otters feed and fish on and around the pontoon in front on a daily basis whilst seals swim past heading through Caol Chàrna narrows to our right and both eagles often perch on ‘the bridge’ in full view!

There is a unique freedom to explore on land and by boat this stunningly beautiful and secluded area, so free from light pollution the Milky Way lights up the sky on clear nights.

Visiting Carna & Exploring The Mainland
The beautiful seclusion of this wild conservation island gives ample opportunities for exciting outdoor adventure. Guided walks, or exploring on your own, the island offers amazing opportunities for hillside rambles and picnics, wandering the shoreline for rock pools and finding crabs, discovering the archaeology or launching your own expeditions by boat. With zero light pollution on a clear night on Carna provides quite a spectacle. To sit outside the houses on a dead quiet night and admire the scale of the cosmos while spotting shooting stars and satellites whizz by is one of our favourite experiences on Carna. Transport is provided in the form of a rigid tubed dinghy called Cutty which is kept on a running mooring and access is via stepping over the side of her (approx. 1m height) onto the stone beach. There is no jetty, pontoon, pier, dock etc, which is why we recommend wellies! Once on land, you have the use of an Egator electric buggy to carry luggage and shopping to the house.

Located 16 miles south of the bustling harbour town of Oban on the west coast of Scotland, Torsa is within easy reach of shops, tourist attractions and only three hours drive from Glasgow. Your stay starts with a lesson in using the motorboat and electric buggy provided for your use, and help to settle you into your holiday accommodation.
