The open-plan lounge and dining area features a heated slate floor, exposed roof beams, a traditional peat fire, comfortable seating, a flat-screen HD TV with Sky, a DVD player and an iPod docking station. The well-equipped kitchen includes a Rangemaster cooker with wok burner and griddle, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and other essentials. A separate outbuilding contains the washer dryer and freezer. A large dining table seating four provides an inviting space for enjoying home-cooked meals.

The bedroom is floored with hand-cut elmwood and features a unique, rustic handmade double bed with a luxurious mattress. The spacious bathroom includes a traditional freestanding bath and a separate Daryl Hydra Classic shower.

Visiting the Area

The surrounding area is abundant in natural beauty and offers a wealth of outdoor activities. Fishing is available on South Uist and Benbecula, with the shell and alkaline machair lochs on the west side well known for quality brown trout and sea trout. Salmon and trout are also regularly caught.

Visitors can enjoy the renowned links golf course at Askernish or take scenic boat tours with Uist Sea Tours. Day trips by boat can be made to destinations including St Kilda, Barra, Mingulay, Lewis, Harris and the Isle of Skye.
