The Urquhart, Oldmeldrum, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire


Uniquely set within a former brewery, The Urquhart sleeps up to six guests and has been thoughtfully designed as a true home away from home. Accommodation

The bright and airy living space features an open mezzanine sitting room, a fully equipped modern kitchen, and a convenient utility area. Guests can choose from a king-size master bedroom, a smaller double room, and a stylish twin room. There are also two walk-in shower rooms, along with a quiet desk space that is well suited for work or study.

The ground floor provides generous space for socialising and spending quality time together. The Vestibule and Garden Room offer welcoming areas for dining and gathering, leading through to The Pheasant Bar, which includes ample seating for relaxed conversation. Complete with its own bar, pool table, dart board, and table football, it is ideal for those who enjoy a bit of friendly competition. Guests can sample local whiskies and gins, and tours can be arranged to help discover new favourites.

For quieter moments, The Den provides a comfortable space for watching films, gaming, or enjoying a selection of family board games. It is also a perfect spot to relax with a coffee and a good book. An accessible toilet is conveniently located on the ground floor.

The Urquhart is conveniently situated near several wedding venues and golf courses, just off the town centre of Oldmeldrum. It offers easy access to local shops, eateries, and parking directly opposite the property. There is plenty to explore in the surrounding area, including:

Set within its own private grounds on the exclusive Primrose Valley Estate near the seaside town of Filey, Bourne End House is a magnificent detached former gentleman’s residence offering spacious self-catering accommodation for large groups. This grand property retains many original period features, including beautiful parquet flooring, stained glass windows, and ornate cornice work, creating an elegant yet welcoming retreat by the coast.

Ground Floor

The ground floor features two spacious lounges, both with original parquet flooring and Freeview TV. One lounge includes a log-burning stove, perfect for cosy evenings in.

A bright and airy conservatory leads off one of the living rooms, offering a peaceful space to relax while overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens.

The large kitchen/dining room provides an ideal social hub for guests to gather for meals or to plan the day’s adventures. The two dining tables seat up to 18 guests, with additional seating available in the adjoining private pub area. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for group catering, including a multifuel range, American-style fridge freezer, washer, dryer, microwave, conveyor toaster, kettles, dishwasher, and a full range of crockery, cutlery, pans, and utensils.

One of the property’s most distinctive features is the exclusive on-site traditional English pub, available only to guests. The pub includes a pool table, darts board, table football, and Sky TV (including Sky Sports). Guests can even pre-order kegs to have fitted before arrival, allowing them to pull their own pints throughout their stay. The bar opens directly onto the patio area, making it ideal for entertaining.

Outside, guests can enjoy ample seating, a brick-built BBQ, and a private hot tub. The large garden also features a children’s play area, making the property perfect for families.

A disabled-access double bedroom with a wet room shower and toilet is also located on the ground floor, alongside a separate WC and level access throughout the property and gardens.

First Floor

The first floor includes two double bedrooms and one triple bedroom, all spacious, bright, and elegantly furnished.

One double features a 5ft sleigh bed.

Another double includes an en suite bathroom.

The triple room provides flexible sleeping arrangements for families or groups.

Guests also have access to a main bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath, basin, and toilet, as well as a separate shower room and an additional toilet on this floor.

Second Floor

The second floor offers further generous accommodation, comprising:

One double bedroom

One quadruple bedroom with four single beds

One double bedroom with an additional single bed

Two shower rooms with toilets serve this floor, ensuring convenience for all guests.

Additional Information

Bed linen and towels are provided.

A travel cot and highchair are available on request (guests must bring their own cot linen).

Central heating is provided throughout the property.

Ample parking is available on the driveway, with on-street parking nearby.

A welcome pack greets guests on arrival.

Up to two dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (ground floor only, not to be left unattended), charged at £50 per dog.

Exploring Hunmanby & North Yorkshire

Primrose Valley is ideally located for exploring the Heritage Coast and the North York Moors National Park. Visitors can discover the historic fishing port of Whitby, the elegant seaside resort of Scarborough with its shops, theatre, funfair, and vibrant promenade, and Filey, known for its five miles of golden beach, fishing trips, and excellent restaurants.

The North York Moors National Park is within easy reach, offering stunning scenery, hiking trails, and picturesque villages. Local amenities include a pub (250 yards) and a shop and restaurant (500 yards).
