Gartclach Farm Holiday Homes are set on a family-run farm on the edge of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, offering a peaceful rural retreat in a truly beautiful setting. Surrounded by 700 acres of farmland, guests can enjoy open space, fresh air and the gentle pace of countryside living. The location provides an ideal base from which to explore everything the area has to offer, from scenic walking and cycling routes to picturesque villages and lochside views, or simply relax and unwind in the tranquillity of the farm.

There are three self-catering cottages to choose from, each offering comfortable and stylish accommodation in this idyllic location.

Gartclach – Sleeps 10

Gartclach is a modern and luxurious four-bedroom home with its own enclosed garden and private hot tub, perfectly positioned to take in the surrounding views. Inside, the property offers spacious and stylish accommodation throughout. The welcoming living room features a wood burner and Freeview Smart TV, while the well-equipped kitchen and dining area includes a breakfast space, range cooker, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, wine fridge and dishwasher.

A separate utility room provides a washing machine and tumble dryer. The ground floor also includes a double bedroom and a shower room with cubicle shower and toilet. Upstairs, there are two king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom and an additional shower room with cubicle shower and toilet. A games room with a double sofa bed offers extra space for relaxation or additional guests.

Fiadh Ruadh – Sleeps 6

Fiadh Ruadh is a modern and luxurious three-bedroom house offering stylish and comfortable accommodation over two floors. On the ground floor, the living room features a wood burner and Freeview Smart TV, alongside a well-equipped kitchen and dining area with a range cooker, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A separate utility room includes a washing machine and tumble dryer, and there is also a shower room with cubicle shower and toilet.

Upstairs, the property offers two king-size bedrooms, one with its own en-suite shower room, as well as a twin bedroom and a family bathroom with bath, wash hand basin and toilet. Outside, guests can enjoy a private hot tub and an enclosed garden, ideal for relaxing in the fresh countryside air.

Iora Rua – Sleeps 6

Iora Rua is an elegant and contemporary three-bedroom house, providing an idyllic setting in which to relax and recharge. The property offers generous living space across two floors. On the ground floor, the living room features a wood burner and Freeview Smart TV, creating a cosy atmosphere, while the spacious kitchen and dining area is fully equipped with a range cooker, induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher, making it ideal for leisurely meals together.

A separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer adds convenience, and a modern shower room with cubicle shower and toilet completes the ground floor. Upstairs, the principal bedroom features a king-size bed, dressing area and stylish en-suite shower room. A second king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom provide flexible accommodation, served by a family bathroom with bath, wash hand basin and toilet. Outside, an enclosed garden offers privacy, while the hot tub provides the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the surrounding countryside.

Visiting the Area

Gartmore and the surrounding area offer an abundance of natural beauty and outdoor adventure. Located within Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the area is ideal for scenic walking and cycling routes, with breathtaking views across Loch Lomond and the surrounding hills. Nearby Aberfoyle is home to the Lodge Forest Visitor Centre and the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, where woodland trails and wildlife, including red squirrels, can be enjoyed.

A short drive brings guests to the shores of Loch Katrine, perfect for boat trips and leisurely waterside walks, while nearby villages, cosy cafés and traditional pubs provide welcoming places to relax after a day exploring.

Aberfoyle Cottages offers superb self catering accommodation in Balleich. Our two cottages near Aberfoyle enjoys glorious views of Ben Lomond and lush fields. We are a great base for exploring Stirling and Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.

Outside of the holiday cottage is a large secure south facing garden which is ideal for children and pets. There is a barbeque area with outdoor seating (BBQ provided, please bring your own charcoal) and also a large secure storage shed for your bicycles and other sporting equipment. We have also provided comfy sun loungers if you fancy a day of just relaxing and catching some rays in the secluded garden. There is also ample parking space for 2 cars adjacent to the cottage and additional parking a short distance away.

This beautiful part of Scotland is a haven for walkers, cyclists, nature lovers and those who want to visit the many sights throughout Stirling and the Loch Lomond National Park. The village of Aberfoyle is just a short 10 min stroll away down a well lit, quiet road where you will find a supermarket (open from 8 am to 10 pm 7 days a week), a variety of shops, bars and restaurants to supply you with all the food, entertainment and refreshments you will need for your stay. 

This is also an excellent base for touring with many tourist attractions and main cities all within an hour's drive. There are also regular bus links from the village and excellent local taxi services. Most of the main supermarkets all deliver to Aberfoyle. Order before you leave home and have it delivered after your arrival.

Our property was once a squash court, hence its name, however it has been beautifully decorated and furnished throughout, providing comfortable and well appointed self catering accommodation for up to 4 people.

The accommodation is extremely stylish with a full length window and double height ceilings creating a light and modern space.

Our holiday home is only 3 miles from Aberfoyle and is an ideal base for those who want a get away from it all break. It is on the remote and picturesue eastern shores of Loch Lomond at Inversnaid. With two main centres at Aberfoyle and Callander, the Trossachs are the very heart of Scotland – between the Lowlands and the Highlands – yet are never more than an hour’s drive from the city centres of Edinburgh or Glasgow.

The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park is breathtaking. The national park is an adventure playground for hillwalkers and outdoor pursuit enthusiasts, while others come simply to gaze – and experience first-hand the glories of Loch Lomond, Ben Lomond, Loch Ard and Loch Katrine.
