Old Town Hall Cottage, Wadsworth, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire


Old Town Hall Cottage is a picturesque early 17th-century Grade II listed, two-bedroom country cottage located in the heart of Old Town village, near the popular tourist town of Hebden Bridge in the South Pennines. The cottage has recently been renovated, carefully retaining many of its original features, including an open fireplace, mullioned windows, and original oak beams. It has been comfortably furnished to accommodate up to four guests.

Accommodation

The cottage offers everything needed for an unforgettable stay in a fantastic location. Guests are welcomed with a thoughtful food pack, fresh fruit, flowers, and complimentary toiletries.

The cosy lounge is full of character and features a flat-screen smart TV, DVD player, Bluetooth CD microsystem, and comfortable seating. The kitchen/diner, updated with new units and appliances in 2021, is ideal for home cooking and includes an electric oven, gas hob, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a breakfast table with chairs.

The bathroom includes a luxurious walk-in shower and underfloor heating. There are two bedrooms: one double room and one bunk room. High-quality Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels are provided for guests’ comfort.

Outside, there is private parking for one car and a small patio area with a table and chairs, perfect for al fresco dining on sunny days.

Visiting the Area

The village features a welcoming public house within half a mile of the cottage, offering traditional beers and home-cooked meals. Set within spectacular scenery, Old Town Hall Cottage provides an excellent base for walking and exploring the surrounding countryside.

Nearby attractions include historic Haworth, just a 15-minute drive away and known as the home of the Brontë sisters, as well as the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, famous as the filming location for The Railway Children. Other local highlights include Heptonstall Museum, Hardcastle Crags, Boulsworth Hill, and the Rochdale Canal.
