Guests can choose from three tastefully furnished and well-equipped stone cottages, all finished to a high standard. The cottages are located adjacent to the Blackaddie Country House Hotel and are ideally positioned for discovering the local area.
Waterside Cottage – Sleeps 4
Waterside Cottage enjoys lovely views over the salmon pool and features a comfortable sitting and dining area with TV and seating. The fully equipped kitchen includes an electric cooker, dishwasher and fridge, making it ideal for self-catering stays. The two bedrooms can be arranged as one double and one twin, two twins or two doubles to suit guests’ needs. Outside, a garden provides the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee in the sunshine.
River Cottage – Sleeps 2
River Cottage is set in an elevated position close to the river. Inside, the cottage features a well-equipped kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher and fridge, along with a cosy lounge area with Smart TV and comfortable seating. The spacious bedroom can be arranged as either a double or twin. Outside, a table and chairs offer an inviting space to enjoy a drink in the evening sun.
Fishing Cottage – Sleeps 4
Fishing Cottage is a tranquil retreat located close to the John Kerr Salmon Pool, just upstream along the river. The open-plan kitchen and lounge area includes comfortable seating and a Smart TV, while the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric cooker, dishwasher and fridge. The two bedrooms can be arranged as one double and one twin or two twins. Outside, a table and chairs provide a pleasant setting for alfresco dining.
The cottages are located close to the Blackaddie Country House Hotel, home to a beautiful garden, excellent cuisine and a lively bar. A public swimming pool and golf course are also just 500 yards away.

This area of southern Scotland offers a wealth of activities and attractions. The cottages are situated just metres from Scotland’s Southern Upland Way, making them an ideal base for walking, birdwatching, salmon and trout fishing, and golfing on the local course or at world-renowned courses such as Troon and Turnberry. Canoeing on the River Nith offers some of the best white-water experiences in Scotland, while gold panning can be enjoyed in the scenic Mennock Valley.
Nearby attractions include Drumlanrig Castle, the Museum of Scottish Lead Mining, Dumfries House, Sanquhar Castle and Sanquhar Golf Club.
