Well-behaved dogs are welcome, though there is an extra charge of £3 per day per dog. Visitors should keep dogs under control, especially since the area often contains livestock.

For those who enjoy cycling, the route to Keswick takes about 3 hours, mostly on the Coast to Coast route. Keswick, slightly larger and very popular with tourists, sits on Derwentwater and has much to offer in terms of sights, activities, and dining options. Beyond these, guests can explore towns around the Solway Firth like Maryport and Allonby or venture north to Carlisle and the Scottish Border and Roman Wall.
