Vicarage Cottage is a converted holiday home in a beautiful part of Devon. This self-contained cottage is part of the west wing of an old vicarage and is the perfect place for families to stay. The cottage is a short drive from Exeter and is a great base for those who want to explore this beautiful part of the country.
The owners of Vicarage Cottage aim to provide guests with a place that feels like home from the moment you arrive. It has three spacious bedrooms, an open plan lounge/diner & a well-equipped kitchen.
Outside is a little cottage garden, providing a space for children to play and adults to relax. A BBQ is provided.
Kenton is a lovely Devon village which has a fine local pub, two marvellous restaurants and its own castle: Powderham Castle, the seat of the Earl of Devon. Stay here and you will be in striking distance of the fine old city of Exeter, the birdlife of the Exe Estuary and the picturesque coastal resorts of Dawlish and Teignmouth.
Nearby Exeter is Devon’s capital. It is a vibrant university city and a surprisingly good shopping centre. But above all Exeter is a city full of historic buildings and an atmosphere that only thousands of years of history can provide. The city is best known for its four leading attractions the Gothic cathedral, 14th century underground passageways, historic quay & Roman city walls.
In the evening, there is lots to do whether you are looking for fine dining such as at Michael Caines' Restaurant at Abode Exeter or music and dancing at clubs such as The Cavern and Timepiece. And if it’s a drink you are after, Exeter’s narrow alleys are crammed full of atmospheric pubs, such as the Ship Inn, said to be the favourite watering-hole of Sir Francis Drake.
