The cottage has been rebuilt from a derelict barn using stone from the original building. The traditions of the Northumberland cottage have been incorporated to achieve a detached cottage of the highest possible standard.

Over the lane the stream runs down to the ford and footbridge of the River East Allen only a few hundred yards from the cottage. There are many wonderful walks starting at your doorstep and the wildlife is everywhere from the plentiful pheasant, grouse, partridge, chaffinch, thrush, goldfinch and deer to the rarer red squirrel, golden plover and the magnificent black grouse in its most southerly outpost.
