Gwanas Fawr offers two self-catering cottages in the foothills of Cadair Idris, set in stunning Welsh countryside in Snowdonia. Situated down a farm track, these two cottages are surrounded by farmland and have fabulous views.
Ty Trol is a cosy cottage that sleeps up to 4 people in two bedrooms - a double and a twin. The cottage has traditional features with an open plan living space downstairs including a wood-burning stove. There are exposed beams throughout and the well-equipped kitchen has everything you may need.
Ty Neuadd sleeps 5 people and a baby/toddler. The cottage has been built inside the walls of an original medieval hall. There are 3 bedrooms - a double, twin and single bedroom. There are traditional features including exposed beams throughout.
Outside of each cottage, there is a large outdoor space with BBQ and outdoor furniture and a paddock that has a stream running through it. There is a secure barn for bike storage and we have table tennis available in the medieval barn.
Lots of wonderful attractions are in the local area. The Mawddach Estuary is a striking sight, flanked by woodlands, wetlands and the mountains of southern Snowdonia. If you fancy trying some exciting outdoor activities, Coed y Brenin Forest Park has everything from challenging orienteering routes and geocaching to world-class mountain biking trails.
