Originally part of a farm, the house has beams, exposed stonework and of course, a cosy wood burner to complete the country charm. With ample space for seven guests there is a lovely breakfast kitchen, a large lounge and a separate dining room, with additional soft furnishings and a TV. Outside the split level garden and patio takes full advantage of the magnificent views over the Powys countryside, woodlands and forestry.

The interesting and historic market town of Builth Wells is a couple of miles away and centres around a Norman castle which was built in the 12th Century. Its important strategic location gave it a turbulent history, but it also ensured its prosperity as the market town it remains today.

The last independent Prince of Wales, Llewelyn, was killed in 1282 at a battle near Builth, and in the town there is a 1000 square foot mural depicting his last days. His remains are buried at nearby Abbey Cwm Hir where there is also an unusual historic mansion house worthy of a visit.

Tyddyn really is in the perfect location to explore and enjoy mid Wales at any time of year; you will never be short of places to discover and you will be happy to return to this delightful cottage after memorable days out.
