The Coach House, Rockfield, Monmouth, Monmouthshire


The Coach House is a self-catering holiday home located just outside Rockfield near Monmouth. It has long been used both by visitors exploring Monmouthshire and by guests working in the renowned on-site recording studio. The studios and accommodation have hosted some of the world’s top recording artists. The iconic “Bohemian Rhapsody,” voted consistently as the most popular song of all time, was recorded here, along with two of Queen’s bestselling albums, A Night at the Opera and Sheer Heart Attack. Oasis spent six weeks here in the summer of 1995 while recording What’s the Story Morning Glory, and Nigel Kennedy also recorded in one of the studios during that period.

About The Coach House

The Coach House serves as accommodation for one of the two recording studios and can sleep up to 16 guests across seven en suite rooms. The layout includes two family rooms, three twin rooms and two double rooms, each featuring a Jacuzzi bath and power shower. Key features include:

Guests can unwind in front of the wood-burning stove in the main lounge after a day spent walking along the Offa’s Dyke Path or exploring the Wye Valley. The large lounge and dining area offer an excellent space for gathering with friends and family, while the generously sized bedrooms provide comfort and privacy.

A fully equipped kitchen is available, and the lounge includes satellite TV, DVD and video players, and a stereo system. All bedrooms come with their own TV, telephone, and tea/coffee-making facilities. Two of the double rooms offer wheelchair access.

The area surrounding The Coach House offers plenty for visitors of all ages, including a wide range of shops and ample opportunities for walking and cycling. The Coach House is a self-catering holiday home outside of Rockfield near Monmouth. It has been used as accommodation for those who are looking to explore Monmouthshire and as a place to stay for those who are using the recording studio on site. Our studio and accommodation have been used by some of the top recording artists in the world! The song which continually tops the polls as the most popular song of all time - 'Bohemian Rhapsody' - was recorded here as well as two of Queen's best selling LP's, 'Night at the Opera' and 'Sheer Heart Attack' & Oasis spent six weeks here in the summer of 1995 whilst recording 'What's the Story Morning Glory' in one of our studios whilst Nigel Kennedy recorded in the other.
