Manor Farm Cottage is a tranquil, 150-year-old detached island-stone holiday cottage on the outskirts of Wroxall. Situated towards the southern tip of the Isle of Wight and surrounded by beautiful countryside, it provides a peaceful escape from the pressures of everyday life.
Combining original character with contemporary comforts, this charming cottage sleeps up to six guests and is an excellent choice for families seeking style, space and relaxation.
Accommodation
Manor Farm Cottage retains many original features, including exposed stone walls and flagstone flooring, complemented by a modern take on classic cottage interiors.
On the ground floor, the front door opens into a small farmhouse-style porch, providing a handy place for muddy wellies and sandy beach equipment.
The welcoming sitting room overlooks the surrounding countryside and features a cosy log burner, large comfortable sofas with seating for up to six guests and a flat-screen Smart TV with Freeview. A Bose iPod docking system is also provided.
The dining room has a large oak table that comfortably seats six to eight people, providing plenty of space for leisurely family meals.
Just off the kitchen is a day/playroom with a large sofa, Smart TV and DVD player. A selection of children's books, toys and games is provided, along with books and DVDs for adults. French doors lead directly into the secure back garden and children's play area.
A useful utility room includes a washing machine, tumble dryer and separate WC, with a back door leading to the gravel driveway and side garden.
Bedrooms
Traditional farmhouse-style stairs lead to three comfortable bedrooms, a modern family bathroom and a separate shower room.
The Green Fern bedroom is bright and airy, with lovely views across the surrounding countryside. It features a king-size bed with a memory foam topper, crisp cotton bedding and decorative cushions.
The Cow Parsley Blue bedroom also enjoys countryside views and includes a king-size bed with a memory foam-topped mattress and fresh cotton bedding. A full-size cot is available in the corner of the room, making it particularly convenient for families with young children.
The Red, White and Blue bedroom overlooks the back garden and has been designed with younger guests in mind. It features full-size bunk beds, a chest of drawers with a built-in changing table, star lights and a reading chair, with enough space for an additional travel cot.
The family bathroom has a beautiful slipper bath with a hand shower attachment, WC and hand basin. There is also a separate shower room with a large shower, WC and hand basin.
Gardens & Outdoor Space
The main garden offers plenty of room to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Guests can fire up the BBQ, unwind on the patio or watch the children enjoy the dedicated play area, which includes swings, a slide and an 8ft trampoline.
A garden shed contains a selection of outdoor toys, bikes and scooters for children. There is also a log store, washing line and a secluded garden area which is perfect for enjoying a quiet morning coffee in the sunshine.
Visiting Wroxall & Exploring the Isle of Wight
Manor Farm Cottage enjoys a wonderful location amid some of the Isle of Wight's most impressive scenery. The surrounding countryside offers opportunities to spot wildlife while walking across the downs, through sheltered valleys and among ancient woodland.
Despite its peaceful setting, the cottage is within easy reach of the island's popular beaches, shops, restaurants, pubs, golf courses and sailing facilities.
Families looking for adventure can visit Blackgang Chine, around a 15-minute drive from the cottage, while Robin Hill offers another fun-filled day out.
Several beautiful beaches and coves are also within easy reach, including Steephill Cove, Castle Haven, Ventnor, Shanklin and Compton. Whether guests prefer countryside walks, days beside the sea or exploring the Isle of Wight's many attractions, Manor Farm Cottage provides an excellent base.
