Two double bedrooms provide flexible sleeping arrangements, with the option to configure them as king beds or two singles, catering to the needs of guests. Each bedroom is well-appointed, with one boasting an en-suite bathroom for added convenience, while the other is adjacent to a modern shower room. The living area exudes a welcoming ambience, furnished with two comfortable sofas, creating a cosy space for relaxation after a day of exploration. The fully equipped kitchen leaves no culinary need unmet, featuring an array of amenities including an integrated fridge, freezer, oven, ceramic hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, and even a slow cooker.

Outside, guests can soak in the serene ambience from the comfort of the decked patio area, offering a tranquil view of the river, perfect for unwinding amidst nature's embrace.

Berriew serves as an excellent starting point for exploring the treasures of Mid-Wales. Within easy reach, guests can venture to nearby Welshpool, Newtown, and Montgomery, each offering its own unique charm and attractions. For those preferring alternative modes of transportation, a bus route conveniently runs past the cottage, while cycling enthusiasts will delight in the presence of Cycle Route 81 weaving through the village and the proximity of the Montgomeryshire Canal just 500 meters away. Madog's Wells is situated in eight acres of beautiful countryside with woodland walks all around and plenty of wildlife and is ideal for bird watching, walking or touring Mid Wales. You can watch the birds from your breakfast table.

About The Cottages:

All our self-catering units contain ample cooking utensils, china, cutlery, flat-screen Sky TV, DVD players, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers and first aid kits. All heating, bedding, linen, some towels, tea towels and utilities are included in the prices.

There is ample parking and patio tables and chairs are outside each unit. A rotary clothesline, pegs and washing machines are available for guests’ use. We have a travel cot and high chair available on request.

There is a children’s play area, a games room which contains darts, a pool and table tennis (parental supervision for under 12’s please).

Wrens Nest:

This compact cottage comprises a;

Tynllwyn Farm Cottages, Welshpool, Powys (Sleeps 1-6)

Tynllwyn Farm Cottages are 5 self-catering cottages that are set on the grounds of Tynllwyn Farm. The farm is accessed down a private driveway, just outside the Powys town of Welshpool. The holiday cottages are well equipped and surrounded by stunning countryside.

Mountain View Cottage (sleeps 5) - comprises a triple bedroom, downstairs double bedroom with shower and bath plus a shower upstairs. There is also a living area, well-equipped kitchen and spacious dining area.

Granary Cottage (sleeps 4) - comprises a double and twin room. There is also a kitchen, a living room upstairs and a bathroom. Outside is a patio area.

Brook View (sleeps 6) - comprises a double and 2 twin rooms. There is a shower over bath downstairs and a shower upstairs too. This holiday cottage also has a wood burner.

Dingle Cottage (sleeps 4 + cot) - comprises 1 double and 1 twin room, bathroom (shower, WC and basin), fully fitted kitchen/diner with cooker, fridge and microwave. Lounge looking out to the front.

Valley View Cottage (sleeps 6 + cot) - comprises 1 twin, 1 double and one room with full-size bunks, 1 bathroom downstairs (shower, WC, basin), 1 bathroom upstairs (shower, WC, basin), fully fitted kitchen/diner with cooker, fridge and microwave. Lounge looking out to the front.

Welshpool is a country market town in Mid Wales and is ideally situated for lovely walks along Glyndwr's Way and Offa's Dyke. There are many places of interest to visit, e.g. Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway (one of the great little steam trains of Wales), Canal Boat trips and beautiful Powis castle. Market day is held every Monday.

There is also fishing, golf, pony trekking, quad bike trekking and a modern leisure centre with a swimming pool, fitness suite and bowls hall. The cottages are central for many worthwhile day trips to the north and west coast.

The Old Corner Shop is a beautifully appointed holiday cottage in Berriew. Our accommodation provides a comfortable and homely base from which to explore Powys. Berriew is a picturesque village, with its Tudor style buildings, rural charm and the River Rhiew running through its centre. The village is a short drive from Welshpool and many other attractions. 

As its name suggests, The Old Corner Shop was once a centrally placed store in the village. It has been re-furbished to a high standard and offers well-appointed accommodation for up to 4 people. Short breaks are available, so whether you are looking for a quick break away with friends or a longer family holiday, we look forward to welcoming you. 

This stylish and attractive holiday home includes everything you need for an enjoyable holiday.

The view from the kitchen and lounge takes in the picturesque village church, while the bedrooms look out over the River Rhiew. An elevated view of the river can be enjoyed from the cottage’s rooftop sundeck, which is accessed through the landing. 

Berriew is a fantastic place from which to explore Mid-Wales. Within comfortable driving distance you can reach Welshpool, Newtown and Montgomery. Alternatively, you can hop on a bus (there is a route that runs straight past the cottage) or enjoy a bike ride in the local area. Cycle route 81 runs through the village and the Montgomeryshire Canal is roughly 500m away. You will never be short of places to walk or cycle when you stay.
