Shoebroad Barn is set within calm and scenic surroundings, offering wide valley views and rolling hillside landscapes that create a truly relaxing rural escape. This spacious semi-detached barn is ideally suited to family getaways, group holidays and special celebrations, comfortably accommodating up to ten guests. Children and short breaks are welcome, making it a flexible and inviting option for a variety of stays.

Accommodation

The large lounge provides a welcoming space for relaxation, featuring double-glazed windows to the rear that frame far-reaching views across the valley towards the historic Dobroyd Castle. Exposed ceiling beams and a feature stone fireplace with a gas stove create a warm and characterful atmosphere, while generous, comfortable seating allows guests to unwind and enjoy the scenery.

The recently installed kitchen is well equipped for larger groups and includes light grey units, an impressive eight-ring gas cooker, integrated fridge and dishwasher, microwave, freestanding fridge freezer and washing machine. Plenty of crockery, cutlery, utensils and tea towels are provided, making it ideal for family gatherings and celebrations. A welcome pack is included on arrival, and the dining room comfortably seats up to twelve guests.

Additional facilities include a utility room, games room and cloakroom. A grand sweeping staircase adds character to the property and has proved particularly popular for wedding photographs, with the barn regularly hosting wedding parties thanks to its picturesque setting.

Upstairs, the accommodation comprises one king-size bedroom, two twin bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, and a family room with en-suite facilities that can sleep up to five guests. Bed linen is provided throughout. While the barn comfortably sleeps eight guests across four bedrooms, the family room allows flexibility for groups of up to ten or eleven guests. This arrangement is best suited to families with children due to the pull-out bed, and guests are encouraged to enquire for guidance on suitability to ensure a comfortable stay.

There is a large family bathroom with a shower over the bath, along with additional en-suite shower rooms and a ground-floor shower room. Hand towels are provided throughout the property.

Visiting the Area

Shoebroad Barn is located approximately four miles from the popular town of Hebden Bridge and can be easily reached by car, train or via a scenic canal-side walk. Both Todmorden and Hebden Bridge are well served by Trans Pennine rail services between Leeds and Manchester, as well as local bus routes.

The surrounding area is renowned for its welcoming pubs, independent shops, cafés and restaurants. Hebden Bridge offers a vibrant boutique shopping scene, while Todmorden, just a short stroll downhill, is home to an award-winning indoor market, excellent coffee shops and a strong local food culture. A wide range of dining options is available, from relaxed family-friendly pubs to fine dining and international cuisine.

Accommodation

The cottage offers a welcoming open-plan ground floor, featuring a well-equipped kitchen with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment, washing machine, and generous work surfaces. A dining table with chairs provides space for shared meals, while the sitting area is furnished with two double settees, a Smart TV, DVD player, and a selection of films for relaxed evenings in.
