Brickwall Farm, Sible Hedingham, Halstead, Essex


Brickwall Farm offers self-catering accommodation on the outskirts of the village of Sible Hedingham, near Halstead in Essex. Facilities

The pool is located at the top of the farmhouse garden and is shared with the other holiday cottage and the owners, with sun loungers available for relaxing on warmer days. There is also a well-maintained hard tennis court, with a selection of adult and children’s racquets and balls provided.

For those who enjoy fishing, a one-and-a-half-acre lake is available year-round for relaxed, family-friendly fishing, stocked with rudd, roach, bream and a few carp. A converted play barn next to the cottages offers a sheltered recreational space, featuring table tennis, a pool table and various toys, making it ideal for keeping guests entertained, especially on rainy days. A BBQ and firepit are also available.

Visiting the Area
Sible Hedingham is a charming Essex village with plenty to explore locally and nearby. A highlight is Hedingham Castle, one of the best-preserved Norman keeps in England, set within beautiful grounds and hosting regular events. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and cycling, with quiet lanes and scenic trails. Nearby, the market town of Halstead offers independent shops, cafés and riverside walks, while the historic villages of Finchingfield and Castle Hedingham are well worth visiting for their picturesque greens, traditional pubs and quintessential English charm.

The Roost

Lower Quinceborough sits in an elevated position behind a large front lawn, offering lovely views and a sheltered rear garden. Guests can enjoy cosy underfloor heating, a peaceful rural location with a field footpath right outside the door, and excellent onsite leisure facilities, including a games room, an all-weather tennis court and a grass play area with a football goal. Up to two dogs are welcome, and short breaks are available with a minimum stay of 2 nights.

Partridge Lodge

Partridge Lodge sleeps up to 4 people, making it ideal for families or small groups.

The open-plan living area is designed for comfort, featuring a lounge with cosy seating, a flat-screen TV with DVD player, a DAB radio with Bluetooth and a window offering attractive field views.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a low-level electric oven and hob, microwave, integrated dishwasher and an under-counter fridge with ice box. An additional freezer is available in the shared games room. Patio doors lead out to a private decking area with a hot tub (available March to October), along with a dining area featuring an oval extending table.

The lodge has two bedrooms: a master bedroom with a king-size bed and a twin room. Both share a bathroom with a shower cubicle equipped with a drench head and handheld shower.

Outside there is a front patio and a panel-fenced garden with a decking area, an outdoor rattan dining set and a charcoal BBQ for al fresco meals.

Pheasant Lodge

Pheasant Lodge sleeps up to 4 guests and offers wonderful countryside views.

Bedrooms consist of a master bedroom with a double bed and a twin room. The bathroom features a shower cubicle with a drench head and handheld shower.

Outside, guests will find a front patio plus a private fenced garden with a rattan dining set and charcoal BBQ. The hot tub includes a parasol for use on rainy days.

Shared Facilities

Both cottages share an excellent games room equipped with a full-size snooker table, table tennis, darts, table football, a retro games console and a cupboard filled with children’s games.

At the front of each cottage is an easterly facing patio—ideal for breakfast or a quiet morning coffee. At the rear, a fenced patio garden provides privacy and security for dogs, with a charcoal BBQ for outdoor dining.

The Oast House, Golden Cross, Hailsham, East Sussex


The Oast House at Golden Cross offers exceptional self-catering accommodation near Hailsham. Set in a prime location with breathtaking views of the South Downs, this holiday property is the perfect choice for a relaxing and memorable getaway in East Sussex.

Accommodation

Originally built in the 19th Century, the property now provides high-quality accommodation to suit all needs. The house sleeps up to 12 people, making it ideal for family or group holidays.

On the ground floor, guests can unwind in a spacious sitting room, complete with an open fire, comfortable furniture, a TV and a DVD player. The dining room features seating for up to 20 people and includes a settee that can be converted into a sofa bed.

A well-equipped kitchen comes with an electric double-oven cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer and coffee machine. The oak table seats 12 people, and doors open onto a BBQ area. A shower room is also located on the ground floor.

Outside, visitors can enjoy a secluded private garden with seating, a brick BBQ and a fire bowl — perfect for al fresco dining over a glass or two.

Guests also have access to a range of shared facilities, including an exotic heated swimming pool, tennis court, children’s play area, sauna and jacuzzi. They can freely explore all parts of the garden and park around the estate.
