Delf Cottage enjoys a superb south-west facing position overlooking Worsbrough Dale, with far-reaching views across rolling farmland and woodland stretching towards the Pennines and the Peak District.

Accommodation

Delf Cottage is a charming three-bedroom property offering a peaceful countryside retreat in beautiful surroundings. On the ground floor, there is a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living and dining area that spans the front of the house, perfectly positioned to take in the stunning views. The cottage benefits from full oil central heating, along with a wood-burning stove in the living room, adding both warmth and character.

Upstairs, there is a family bathroom with a shower, along with three comfortable bedrooms comprising one king-size room, one twin and one single.

The cottage is well equipped to ensure a comfortable stay, with amenities including electric cooking facilities, a microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, Wi-Fi and a TV, as well as a CD and radio player. Bed linen is provided, and a cot is available if required. Guests can also make use of private parking, a garden and indoor drying facilities.

Visiting the Area

Although set in a peaceful rural location, Delf Cottage is conveniently located just two miles from the centre of Barnsley and only five minutes from M1 junctions 36 and 37, making it easily accessible.

Situated in the heart of South Yorkshire, Barnsley is surrounded by a variety of attractions that combine history, nature and culture. Nearby Cannon Hall is a beautiful Georgian country house set within parkland, complete with gardens, a farm and a popular farm shop. Worsbrough Mill Country Park offers scenic walks around the reservoir and a working mill that showcases the area’s industrial heritage. For those interested in arts and shopping, The Glass Works provides a vibrant cultural hub with galleries, shops and dining options.

A little further afield, the Peak District National Park offers dramatic landscapes and endless opportunities for walking, cycling and outdoor activities, making Delf Cottage an ideal base for exploring both countryside and culture.

Pat's Cottage, Dore, Sheffield, South Yorkshire (Sleeps 1-6)

Pat’s Cottage offers self catering accommodation in a charming 18th Century stone cottage in the large village of Dore. The cottage has been sympathetically refurbished, retaining original features including black beams. Located on the edge of the Peak District and the city of Sheffield, it is situated in an ideal location to enjoy the local area.

The cottage has fine walks from the door and the heated outdoor swimming pool is surrounded by a pleasant garden and lawns adjacent to the park. It has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with twin beds and sleeps four with additional accommodation in the form of a double sofa bed in the sitting room making a total of six. Off-road parking is available.

Additional facilities - Cot, baby bath and fire guard. A babysitting service is available on request.

Fuel, power and all bed linen and towels are included in the rent. Please bring your towels for the swimming pool though.

Pat's Cottage is within easy reach of the pretty Peak District villages and towns of:

Hathersage.
Hope.
Castleton.
Baslow.
Bakewell.

As well as Ladybower Reservoir, Chatsworth House and Hadden Hall, there is fine walking from the door in addition to the fabulous walks of the Peak District. The city of Sheffield is within easy reach. Two universities are close to hand with good public transport. Dore village which is steeped in history is only about 5 minutes’ walk away. In the past, a battle was fought here for England's Crown.

Accommodation is offered with the use of the owner’s heated swimming pool next door when the weather permits. The pool is heated using modern solar equipment. The pool is 30' x 15' and has steps into the shallow end and is 3'3"- 7'6" deep.
