Claysun House, Whitecroft, Lydney, Gloucestershire, Forest of Dean (Sleeps 1-8)

Claysun House is a stunning riverside property in West Gloucestershire, at Whitecroft near Lydney - in the heart of what can arguably be called the most unspoiled part of the UK. This unique and newly renovated property was launched in September 2019 and offers everything you, your friends and family will need for a luxurious and relaxing break away.

Great care and attention have been paid to every detail when renovating and refurbishing this lovely Victorian property. With chic interiors & all mod cons, Claysun House is a gorgeous addition to the luxury holiday home rental market within the area. One of the 'wow factor' features of the property is the open-plan, south-facing “basement” which has been lovingly restored. Here you will find:

Huge family kitchen/dining room.
TV den (perfect for the kids).
Large sunny conservatory.
Utility room with washer, dryer and downstairs loo.
WiFi internet access throughout.
The kitchen itself has a large kitchen range, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, juicer, food mixer and about every other appliance you will need to prepare family meals. It even has a luxurious dog bed for the four-legged members of the family!

The middle floor has a large sitting room with huge wall-mounted TV, as well as a further snug drawing room with cosy log-burner.

The house can sleep up to 8 people in 4 bedrooms, all of which are en suite and have a TV. A wonderful roll-top bath can be found in one of the en suite facilities - a fantastic place to soak after a day exploring the surrounding area. The master bedroom also has a dressing room, and the beds in this room can be changed into singles if required.

Outside is a gated garden, providing a secure space for dogs and children to play. Enjoy breathtaking views across the Forest of Dean, while overlooking the River Lyd running gently past the end of the cottage lawn. Watch trout swim by, spot kingfishers, the ducks and a plethora of wildlife, all from within a securely fenced space.

And to make Claysun absolutely perfect, there is a fabulous freehold pub, The Miners Arms 100 yards down the road, serving excellent local food, beers and ciders and 50 yards the other way is a fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway if you don't feel like doing the cooking!

The house is surrounded by the ancient Forest of Dean with endless outdoor pursuits including biking, walking and the famous 'Go Ape'. The Dean Forest steam railway line runs within a few hundred yards of the back garden, so you can sit outside and listen to the ‘chug-chug’ of the engines and the whistle of a bygone era. The local town of Lydney, less than a ten-minute drive away, has eclectic and independent shops, as well as a supermarket. Within comfortable driving distance, you can reach a wealth of attractions and places of interest, that all ages can enjoy. This includes The Forest of Dean, Lydney Park, Dean Forest Railway, Puzzlewood, Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, Forest of Dean Adventure, Go Ape! & Dean Heritage Centre.
