Garrique Cottage near Kippen is in an inspirational setting, enjoying stunning hillside and mountain views of west Stirling’s countryside. Our holiday home offers the perfect mixture of privacy and comfort with easy access to local shops, places to eat and the M9 motorway. Up to 2 dogs welcome and we are suitable for people with disabilities.

It is a great base for touring Scotland.

Accommodation

Our superb holiday accommodation is on one level and sleeps 6. The gorgeous kitchen/dining/family room has a beautiful beamed ceiling and large windows which bring lots of natural light in. French doors open onto a south/west facing terrace and sheltered garden leading down to a small burn; the ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the peace and tranquillity.

The kitchen comes fully equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, as well as a TV. A fridge/freezer and washing machine are in the adjoining utility room, and there is also a tumble dryer, a drying green and a small BBQ.

The sitting room has panoramic views of Ben Vorlich, Ben Ledi, and the Braes of Doune, and on a clear day you can see Ben More and Stobinian. The comfortable room has a wood burning stove, TV, DVD player and a large selection of books and board games to have boundless fun playing.

There is a double bedroom, a twin bedroom with plenty of room for a cot or third bed (provided), and a bunk bedroom (unsuitable for children under five). All our bedrooms have hanging space and drawers. The shower room can be en suite with the twin bedroom. The family bathroom has a bath and shower attachment. The third loo is next to the back door.

Local Area

Our lovely holiday home is fortunate to be nestled in the natural beauty of the Scottish countryside. Open field, moors, woods and hills are on the door step, allowing you to savour the peace and seclusion. On the edge of ‘The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park’, it offers scope for a great variety of walks, bicycle rides and bird watching. A newly resurfaced tennis court is available for use.

The pretty villages of Kippen and Gargunnock are only 4 miles away between them boasting 3 pubs/restaurants, 2 delicatessen/cafés and 2 village shops. The historic city of Stirling with its castle, extensive shopping facilities is within 20 minutes easy drive. Blair Drummond Safari Park is close by if you fancy a truly fun filled day.

Templenoe Heights Is close to picturesque town of Kenmare, offering newly refurbished 2-bedroom cottage in scenic rural setting. We are perched on a hillside overlooking Kenmare Bay.

Accommodation

Spacious open-plan living/dining/kitchen area leading to large south facing patio and half-acre garden. Open fireplace. TV, DVD player, radio/CD player. Patio furniture.

Kitchen equipped to high standard - fan oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, pull-out ironing board, pull-out worktables, ample cupboard space including low-level storage facilities.

Utility area off kitchen contains washing machine, tumble dryer.

Master bedroom with 5ft double bed and en suite toilet/shower room.

Second bedroom with 2 single beds. Foldaway bed available on request.

Main toilet/shower room and en suite shower room have level deck showers. The main shower room is designed to accommodate wheelchair users and features raised toilet (470 mm high), grab rails and shower chair.

Generous car parking area at rear of house, level with front door.

Visiting Kenmare & Exploring Co Kerry

Ring Of Kerry Golf Club, Pat Spillane's Bar, Templenoe Pier and Coss Strand (pebble beach) all within 1.5 k.m. Local amenities also include forest walks, hill walking, horse riding and pony trekking, trout/salmon and deep sea fishing, sailing and water sports, sailing and activity centre.

Excellent base for exploring Ring of Kerry and Ring of Beara. Daydrives to Killarney National Park, Healy Pass, Conor Pass, Bantry House, Sneem, Derrynane etc.

Hurstone House dates back to the 14th Century and is now a stunning country house providing spacious self-catering accommodation with breathtaking views. Nestled on the hillside surrounded by fields, orchards and woodland Hurstone lies on the edge of the village of Waterrow and is within easy reach of Exmoor National Park, Somerset. This charming accommodation is ideal for large groups or families and has easy access to the town of Taunton.

Hurstone offers the perfect place for a getaway all year round - whether you are looking for a family holiday in the summer or a winter weekend break with friends. Warm comfortable rooms with open fires, central heating and an outdoor Jacuzzi. In warmer months laze around in the garden, take a stroll through the meadows or discover some of the nearby villages tucked away down the maze of country lanes.

Much of the land is a recognised County Wildlife site with traditional meadows, ancient hedgerows and native woodland bordered by the River Tone. Otters frequent the river and wild deer can be spotted in the woodland and buzzards soar above the pastures.

If you’re an outdoor enthusiast Hurstone is ideally situated for walking, mountain biking, horse riding and fishing. For the less energetic, there are many national trust houses and gardens, scenic drives over Exmoor and the beautiful North Devon coast to explore.

A short walk from the house is The Rock Inn, a traditional village pub serving a range of local Cotleigh and Exmoor ales and fantastic food.
