March Hare Cottage is a charming period property located in the historic village of Bretforton in the Vale of Evesham, one of Worcestershire’s most picturesque settings. Dating back to around 1805, the cottage retains beautiful original features, including flagstone flooring and a characterful chimney, while seamlessly incorporating modern design and comforts. Accommodation
Inside, the cottage offers a thoughtfully designed living space that blends traditional character with contemporary touches. The sitting room is both stylish and comfortable, featuring cosy seating, central heating, and an electric log-effect fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests can also enjoy modern conveniences such as Wi-Fi and a smart HD television, making it an ideal place to relax after a day exploring the countryside.

The fully fitted kitchen and dining area is well equipped for a self-catering stay, with a dishwasher, washing machine, and everything needed to prepare meals with ease. The layout is practical and sociable, providing a comfortable space for cooking and dining.

Upstairs, there are two beautifully presented bedrooms, including a main double bedroom and a second bedroom suitable for guests or family, complete with its own en-suite shower and toilet. Visiting the Area
Bretforton is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area. Within the village, guests can visit the historic Fleece Inn, a traditional thatched pub owned by the National Trust, known for its character and regular folk events. A short drive away is the picturesque village of Broadway, famous for its honey-coloured stone buildings, independent shops, and access to Broadway Tower, which offers sweeping countryside views.

The nearby market town of Evesham sits along the River Avon, offering scenic riverside walks and a selection of local cafés and shops. Further afield, visitors can explore the historic charm of Chipping Campden or visit Hidcote Manor Garden, renowned for its beautifully designed outdoor spaces. Parking is available in the village car park in the centre of Bretforton, which accommodates around 20 cars and is located very close to both The Fleece Inn and March Hare Cottage.

Avonvale Holiday Lodges, Offenham, Evesham, Worcestershire


Avonvale Holiday Lodges is a small, family-run site that offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere along with a range of accommodation options, including hand-built log cabins and comfortable lodges. Conveniently located just off the B4510 between Offenham and Evesham, the site is within easy walking distance of both the village and the riverside market town.

Accommodation

The three-bedroom log cabins, Holly Lodge and Oak Lodge, each accommodate up to seven guests. These spacious cabins feature open-plan living areas with countryside views, fully equipped kitchens, central heating and double glazing. Both provide flexible bedroom layouts, including zip-and-link beds, double rooms and rooms with bunks and a single bed. Daisy Lodge offers a similar level of comfort in a three-bedroom lodge built on a caravan chassis, complete with a double bedroom, two single rooms, a full kitchen and a raised decking area accessible via French doors.

Bluebell Lodge, Primrose Lodge and Foxglove Lodge are handcrafted log cabins made from solid spruce logs, each sleeping up to five guests. They include two bedrooms, central heating, double glazing, parking and free Wi-Fi. Set back from Offenham Road, they offer a traditional cabin atmosphere with layouts that feature combinations of double beds, bunks and single pine beds. Lavender Lodge provides additional space with three bedrooms and accommodation for up to seven people, along with rural views and facilities consistent with the other cabins.

Bramble Lodge is a two-bedroom timber lodge featuring an open-plan lounge, fully equipped kitchen, family bathroom and a raised deck with views across the fields. Laurel Lodge is a three-bedroom lodge that sleeps up to four people and includes an open-plan living area, full kitchen, shower room and decking with outdoor seating. Both lodges are centrally heated, double glazed and well equipped, offering comfortable accommodation in peaceful surroundings.

Visiting the Area

Avonvale Holiday Lodges are situated halfway between Offenham and Evesham, both accessible on foot. Evesham is a traditional market town known for its Saturday and Tuesday markets and its location beside the River Avon. The town features a leisure centre with a swimming pool and climbing wall, as well as Abbey Park—a large riverside park with a children’s play area, skate park and a free summer water park. Visitors can also enjoy boat trips on the River Avon during their stay.
