March Hare Cottage is a charming period property located in the historic village of Bretforton in the Vale of Evesham, one of Worcestershire’s most picturesque settings. Dating back to around 1805, the cottage retains beautiful original features, including flagstone flooring and a characterful chimney, while seamlessly incorporating modern design and comforts. Finished to a high standard throughout, it provides a stylish and welcoming retreat just five miles from Broadway.

Accommodation
Inside, the cottage offers a thoughtfully designed living space that blends traditional character with contemporary touches. The sitting room is both stylish and comfortable, featuring cosy seating, central heating, and an electric log-effect fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests can also enjoy modern conveniences such as Wi-Fi and a smart HD television, making it an ideal place to relax after a day exploring the countryside.

The fully fitted kitchen and dining area is well equipped for a self-catering stay, with a dishwasher, washing machine, and everything needed to prepare meals with ease. The layout is practical and sociable, providing a comfortable space for cooking and dining.

Upstairs, there are two beautifully presented bedrooms, including a main double bedroom and a second bedroom suitable for guests or family, complete with its own en-suite shower and toilet. The cottage also benefits from a bathroom with a shower and toilet, as well as a downstairs bathroom with both a bath and shower, offering added convenience.

Outside, the enclosed garden provides a peaceful and private space, ideal for relaxing or dining outdoors. With patio seating and a secure setting, it is particularly well suited for guests travelling with dogs. The property is also equipped with a range of safety features, including heat and smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, a carbon monoxide detector, and grab rails in the bath and shower areas, ensuring a safe and comfortable stay.

Visiting the Area
Bretforton is ideally located for exploring the surrounding area. Within the village, guests can visit the historic Fleece Inn, a traditional thatched pub owned by the National Trust, known for its character and regular folk events. A short drive away is the picturesque village of Broadway, famous for its honey-coloured stone buildings, independent shops, and access to Broadway Tower, which offers sweeping countryside views.

The nearby market town of Evesham sits along the River Avon, offering scenic riverside walks and a selection of local cafés and shops. Further afield, visitors can explore the historic charm of Chipping Campden or visit Hidcote Manor Garden, renowned for its beautifully designed outdoor spaces. The wider area is rich in scenic walking routes, traditional villages, and cultural attractions, making it an ideal base for a relaxing countryside escape.

Rates range from £685 to £995 per week, depending on the season. The cottage accommodates a maximum of three guests, with children over 8 years old welcome. Pets are also welcome, and Wi-Fi access is available. Parking is available in the village car park in the centre of Bretforton, which accommodates around 20 cars and is located very close to both The Fleece Inn and March Hare Cottage.

Bretforton Holiday Home, Bretforton, The Cotswolds, Worcestershire (Sleeps 1-6)


Bretforton Holiday Home offers outstanding self catering accommodation in Bretforton, Worcestershire. We are situated in a peaceful setting and are a brilliant base for exploring The Cotswolds.

Accommodation
This charming 3-bedroom property has been refurbished to offer luxurious accommodation. The house sleeps up to 6 people in three comfortable bedrooms.

A spacious open-plan sitting room includes a TV and roaring log fire for the chillier times of the year. The modern kitchen has been finished to a high standard and comes with a dishwasher, fridge, hob, oven, microwave, grill, coffee maker, toaster, with fresh coffee supplied. A dining table seats up to nine people, ideal for dining on after cooking up some delights in the kitchen. Doors open onto a block paved patio. A study also has doors which open onto the patio.

Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms: a master king en suite with a walk-in wardrobe, a double and king room. A family bathroom comes with a walk-in shower and separate bath. Downstairs there is also a small bathroom.

Visiting Bretforton & Exploring Worcestershire
The village featured on the Channel 4 TV series ‘Village of the Year’ and is a beautiful place to explore. The award-winning Fleece Inn is owned by the National Trust and hosts the renowned annual asparagus auctions. Fishing is very popular in the area, with great spots on the River Avon, River Arrow and River Servern. Excellent attractions in the local area include:
