Emily Barn at Swiers Farm in Carsington, Derbyshire, offers a serene self-catering accommodation for those seeking a peaceful getaway. Nestled in a tranquil setting and just a short drive from Matlock, this spacious barn is the perfect destination for an idyllic holiday.

The barn can accommodate up to 16 people, making it ideal for large groups, family holidays, celebrations, and team meetings. It boasts a range of original features, including stone flagged floors and oak beams, and features underfloor heating for added comfort.

The fully equipped kitchen includes a double oven/grill, electric hob, microwave, and a dishwasher. Additional appliances like two under-counter fridges, one under-counter freezer, and a separate fridge/freezer in the adjacent barn ensure that you have all the storage space you need. The utility room houses a washing machine and drying rails. In the dining hall, you'll find a large antique mahogany dining table for communal meals and gatherings.

The accommodation is distributed across the ground and first floors. On the ground floor, there are two family rooms. The first family room features a king-size bed, two single beds, and one single futon, while the second offers a double bed and two sofa beds. The first-floor hayloft bedrooms consist of one double en suite room and a family room with three single beds and one sofa bed. The lounge also provides a double sofa bed for additional sleeping space.

Outside, a south-facing garden provides the perfect spot for relaxation and enjoyment when the sun graces the surroundings.

While staying at Emily Barn, you can explore the local area with ease. Just 5 minutes away, you'll find Carsington Water, a beautiful reservoir offering a range of outdoor activities. Within a 30-minute drive, you can reach the charming towns of Bakewell and Chatsworth, famous for their historic and cultural attractions. The area offers numerous opportunities for golf, fishing, cycling, and walking, making it an outdoor enthusiast's paradise. You can also explore the region's rich history and heritage by visiting National Trust properties or take a scenic trip on a steam train, experiencing the beauty and charm of Derbyshire to the fullest.

Emily Barn at Swiers Farm is a beautiful stone-built long barn in Derbyshire. Our barn offers self catering accommodation set in Carsington near Matlock. Close to the edge of the Peak District National Park, this is a great base for family & friends who are looking for a place to get together.

Our holiday home can sleep up to 16 people. There are 4 bedrooms on the ground floor, 2 in the hayloft and a sofa bed in the lounge. 

The flexibility of sleeping arrangements at our holiday home makes us ideal for reunions, family gatherings, birthdays, weddings and anniversary celebrations.

This bright sunny barn still retains characteristics such as oak beams and stone flagged floors on all ground floors with lovely woollen rugs, whilst the hayloft has oak flooring throughout again with under-floor heating. The barn also has other modern facilities such as Wi-Fi and Sky TV which are also provided.

Carsington provides a great base for your stay in the Peak District. There are many attractions on the doorstep from Carsington Water, just a few minutes away, to the Town of Bakewell and Chatsworth which are within half an hour drive. The Peak District holds the proud distinction of being Britain's first National Park and once you see the rolling hills and craggy dales of Derbyshire you'll soon realise why.
