Appleby Castle's Holiday Cottages in Appleby-in-Westmorland provides superb self catering accommodation. Our 3 cottages are in Appleby Castle’s Inner Bailey next to the 12th Century Norman Keep. We are great for walking in the Eden Valley, Cumbria and the Yorkshire Dales.

Accommodation

All the cottages are beautifully furnished and comes with period features and are equipped with a range of modern appliances to suit all your needs. The largest cottage sleeps up to 6 people. Each cottage comes with a well-equipped kitchen, cosy living room with a TV, dining area and comfortable bedrooms.

Lady Anne’s Cottage No 1: This self-contained two-bedroom cottage sleeps up to 6 people and comes with a toasty log burner to keep you warm in the winter months.

Lady Anne’s Cottage No 2: Our self-contained two-bedroom cottage is ideal for a family break away and comes with a log burner.

Lady Anne’s Cottage No 3: This self-contained one-bedroom luxurious cottage includes a large leather wrap lounge, sofa bed, jacuzzi bath, walk-in shower, underfloor bathroom heating, washing machine and log burner.

The Castle has its own stretch of river for fishing. This is prime fishing territory and trout, grayling, eel and the occasional salmon.

Cumbria is renowned for its wonderful golf courses. The Appleby Golf Club offers gorgeous views of the Pennines, Lake District and the hills of the Yorkshire Dales in the distance. Milburn Grange Cottages offers fantastic accommodation in Appleby-in-Westmorland. Nestled directly below the Pennines in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we boast stunning views of the Lake District Fells. We are perfect for an idyllic holiday in Cumbria.

All the cottages are beautifully furnished and come with a range of excellent facilities to suit your needs. The cottages have a full-size bathroom, except Holly cottage and The Studio (apartment) which both have a shower room. Each property has a TV and access to clothes washing/drying facilities either in the cottage or a communal utility room. The larger holiday cottages are provided with dishwashers.

Our cottages are ideal for a relaxing holiday or short break at any time of the year. In addition, for those seeking an activity holiday/break, there is ample scope for strenuous walks on the fells or a stroll by the river, many may be taken right from the cottage door. Cyclists may explore the Pennine and Cumbrian cycle ways, which pass by our gate. Some of the best game fishing in England is offered on the River Eden and nearby there are fishing lakes. Golfers will enjoy the challenges offered by the local courses (Appleby; Penrith) and those a little farther afield, Keswick and Silloth.
