Stepper Head is ideally positioned just a few minutes’ walk from Polzeath’s magnificent surfing beach, coastal paths, shops and restaurants, yet it still enjoys a peaceful setting at the end of a cul-de-sac. The main cottage sleeps six guests, with space for two additional people in the detached annexe.
Accommodation
The open-plan sitting and dining room is spacious, light and airy, with French doors opening directly onto a raised patio and the garden. Comfortable sofas, an armchair and a coffee table create an inviting lounge area, while a large wooden dining table seats six to eight people. Teak outdoor furniture provides the option for al fresco or barbecue dining. The room is equipped with a wood-burning stove, smart television, DVD player, digital hi-fi system, a bookcase stocked with books and a sideboard filled with board games, playing cards and boule.
The large kitchen is bright and well-furnished, featuring two generous windows and a six-seater dining table. It is fully equipped with an electric hob and oven, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, smart TV and coffee machine. A highchair and booster seat are also available.
The master bedroom includes a comfortable double bed with a luxury mattress, a deluxe en-suite bathroom with a bath and separate shower, a sitting area with a smart TV, a digital radio, built-in wardrobes and sliding doors that open onto its own patio and the garden.
The second bedroom overlooks the garden and features two single beds, an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower and built-in storage.
The third bedroom also overlooks the garden and contains twin beds. It sits close to the family bathroom, which includes a Megaflow power shower over the bath.
The annexe, available for an additional 25% charge, offers a large games room, a bedroom and a shower room. The games room is ideal for families and children, featuring a roll-away table tennis table, television, sofa bed, table and chairs, board games and toys. The shower unit has its own hot water tank, perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach. Basic catering facilities include a fridge, microwave and kettle. The annexe bedroom has twin beds, built-in wardrobes and views over the driveway with a glimpse of the sea.
The property’s large private garden is perfect for children to play and for families and friends to relax. It offers lovely views over rolling hills and open countryside, with garden chairs, sun loungers, a parasol, patio furniture and a barbecue for outdoor enjoyment. Exotic planting along the driveway, together with flower and shrub borders at the front and rear, further enhances the peaceful atmosphere. Guests also have access to a beach kit stored in the outside shed, including bodyboards, windbreaks, a selection of wetsuits and toys for younger children.
Visiting the Area
Polzeath makes an excellent base for exploring the north coast of Cornwall. Sandy beaches, renowned surf spots, breathtaking scenery, coastal walks, fishing villages and excellent golf courses are all within easy reach. Hayle Bay’s expansive beach, along with shops and restaurants, is just a short stroll from the cottage. Nearby Padstow offers a charming working harbour, picturesque coastline and a great choice of shops, pubs and restaurants, making it a delightful place to visit during your stay.
