Accommodation
Lavender Lodge accommodates up to two guests and is reached via a short flight of steps with a handrail leading down to the ground-floor level. Inside, everything is arranged on one level, creating a comfortable and accessible space. The interior is beautifully furnished in an open-plan style, with a main living area that includes a zip-link super king bed, which can also be prepared as twin beds on request. The sitting and dining area features a flat-screen TV, while the separate kitchenette is well equipped, and a modern shower room completes the layout. Guests benefit from high-quality hotel-grade mattresses, crisp white bed linen and soft bath towels, with beach towels available on request.
The kitchenette is equipped with everything needed for simple holiday cooking, including a fan oven, electric hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and coffee machine. Guests receive complimentary breakfast items on arrival, and the kitchen is stocked with essentials such as tea, coffee, biscuits, condiments, oil and sauces. Through “the mews,” guests also have access to a shared utility room and garden, where freezer space, a washing machine, a tumble dryer and hanging space for wet coats are provided. Parking is available on the driveway beside the property for one car, with an additional space available by prior arrangement.
At the far end of the garden, a secluded private patio with seating and a barbecue offers a wonderful setting for warm summer evenings. The garden itself is lovingly maintained by the owners and provides a tranquil retreat for those wishing to unwind after exploring the South Downs National Park. Many guests enjoy relaxing here during long, sun-filled afternoons.
Visiting the Area
Just beyond the garden, a short walk across the fields leads to The George at Burpham, where guests can enjoy excellent food and local ales. Lavender Lodge is an ideal base for exploring the rolling hills of the South Downs and the historic town of Arundel, only a short drive away. Arundel’s Norman castle, home to the Duke of Norfolk, is one of the region’s main attractions. The location also offers convenient access to the West Sussex coast, the vibrant cities of Brighton and Chichester and the renowned Goodwood events, including the Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival.
Just over an hour from London, Lavender Lodge is perfectly situated for peaceful short breaks or longer stays, providing a restful escape with easy access to the beauty and culture of West Sussex.
