Knott Cottage offers a choice of two open-plan studios and a spacious, well-appointed two-bedroom apartment. Each property is just a short stroll—around 100 metres—from the high-tide line of a peaceful, sheltered bay, providing an ideal setting for a restful break. From the shoreline, guests can enjoy sweeping views of the distant Outer Hebrides while watching for otters, seals and a variety of seabirds that frequent the area.
Apartment
The Apartment occupies the upper floor of the house and benefits from its own private entrance. It provides bright, centrally heated two-bedroom accommodation with spectacular views over Loch Snizort Beag. The light and welcoming open-plan living area features comfortable sofas, a dining table and chairs, and flows seamlessly into a well-equipped galley kitchen where large windows frame breathtaking views of the loch.
The two bedrooms—one double and one twin—are decorated in neutral tones using natural materials, and are furnished with high-quality mattresses, premium linen, double wardrobes and additional storage. The thoughtfully appointed bathroom includes an over-bath shower and washbasin. Outside, guests are welcome to enjoy the garden, which features a spacious lawn, a drying green and a sheltered enclosed flower garden. Garden furniture is provided for those wishing to sit outdoors and take in the views.
Studio One & Two
Studio One and Studio Two mirror each other, offering bright, contemporary open-plan accommodation designed for one or two guests. With vaulted ceilings, underfloor heating and high-quality furnishings, each studio feels spacious and inviting. Large picture windows frame uninterrupted panoramic views of Loch Snizort Beag.
Ideal for a romantic retreat or honeymoon, each studio includes a king-sized bed with a superior mattress, quality linens, ample storage in a fitted wardrobe and bedside cabinet, and wall-mounted reading lights. The lounge area features two comfortable swivel chairs positioned to maximise enjoyment of the sweeping loch views towards the Outer Hebrides.
A well-equipped kitchen with fitted units and a wooden worktop provides everything needed for self-catering, while a dishwasher adds convenience. Even the kitchen window offers an impressive view. The beautifully finished bathroom includes a large walk-in rainfall shower and towels.

Outside, a small courtyard with private seating overlooks the loch, and guests are welcome to relax in the flower garden as well.

Knott Cottage is located in Knott, a crofting township of seven houses situated midway between Portree—Skye’s main centre—and Dunvegan, home to its world-famous Castle and Gardens. It is ideally placed for exploring many of the Isle of Skye’s top attractions, from the dramatic peaks of the Black Cuillin to the extraordinary geological and prehistoric wonders of the Trotternish Peninsula.
